I have been teaching French and Spanish for over 25 years, in secondary schools, adult education courses and business companies. I have also implemented and developed a Latin GCSE course in my local school, which has been thriving for 25 years. I am experienced in teaching all levels up to advanced for French and A'level for Spanish and Latin.
I welcome learners from all academic and cultural backgrounds, all ages and abilities; I am just keen to share my linguistic skills!

I am a Modern Foreign Languages Graduate with several years of experience teaching both French and Spanish to A level (AQA and EDEXCEL). I am used to working with a wide range of students from lower to higher ability and have an open and direct approach to teaching and learning.
After working as an Au-Pair in France and spending a year teaching in Spain I went onto work in business as a Spanish Market Analyst. Throughout my career in Publishing, I frequently used French and Spanish whilst presenting or in international business negotiations. I speak French and Spanish fluently and Spanish on a daily basis and believe that languages are essential in today's working environment - not just as a communication tool but to better understand different cultures and societies.
At present, I teach in a Grammar School across all key stages.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Are you:
- Looking to improve your French or English? Be it conversational, written, reading, or all three?
- Studying for exams and looking for curriculum-specific tests to get you ready for any exams?
- Going on holiday, and hoping to immerse yourself in the French language as much as possible, and would love to gain some new skills?
I`m a French bi-lingual (French native) opera singer currently based in Brighton. I teach French and English privately (my youngest students are 3, and the eldest 50+ !) and I`m happy to teach online or in person (max 10 mile radius from Brighton).
My teaching style is relaxed but attentive, and I tailor all sessions to your needs. I have good flexibility for daytime / evening sessions, so do get in touch if this is something which might be of interest!
À bientôt!

Hi there! I'm Emily and I'm really looking forward to being your tutor. I have been a teacher for more than 5 years and have experience in different schools teaching to all ages (from 7-18!). I have also been an Assistant Head of Year 9-10 which has helped me learn about children's needs, emotions and interests more so than you could ever imagine. I am a creative individual and I am always looking up, discussing and searching for great activity ideas that make learning something "dull" seem like a walk in the park. I really do believe in Einstein's famous quote: "...if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid". I think learning a language is like this. We often assume that everyone learns in the same way, and then become frustrated as teacher or learner when it doesn't work. But learning a language is not the same for everyone. Some might want to and pick up speaking tasks easily, others might prefer the calm of re-reading their work silently. This is why I always tailor my lessons to fit the child, and not the other way around. We will spend time discussing your likes and dislikes and your learning styles so that I can adapt my lesson style around YOU. At the end of the day, I want you to feel confident and progress in the best possible way so that you feel proud about your achievements. Everyone can learn a language, they just need to find the right teaching style that suits them. As for me, well, I have first-hand experience of teaching in a classroom to children from aged 7-18. I have taught KS3 and KS4 French and Spanish as well as KS5 (A-Level) French. Therefore I have up-to-date knowledge of the AQA and Edexcel exam boards and have marked and moderated hundreds of exam papers. I am also going to be doing exam marking for Edexcel and AQA this spring / summer which will give even more comparison for exam scenarios. I have always strived to be the best version of myself and have sought the best possible results in myself and my students as possible. I love a challenge and whether it's pushing myself to create an interesting lesson, or learning the next piano piece for an exam, I am sure that my determined nature will work wonders with our tutoring sessions. I gained a Distinction in Modern Foreign Languages for my PGCE at the University of Bristol and have always scored highly in classroom observations. I gained the highest A-Level results in my school and this conscientiousness is a quality that has always pushed me to expect and want better in my life. I am not expecting every student to have this same motivation for language learning, but that's where I will help you get what they want out of your language learning journey. Book now to see how you really CAN learn a language, and you might even ENJOY www.*** !

¡Hola! I am Alexandra, a Spanish born and bred teacher based in England. My passion for languages made me become an MFL teacher gaining my PGCE at the university of Sussex. I see languages as something alive, therefore, my lessons will immerse my students in a fun, dynamic and interactive environment where learning languages will always be a pleasure, not a task. With me you will learn about both the language and the culture of the different Spanish speaking countries. I can teach Spanish to any level, from academic, to Spanish for holidays or for business people. I also teach French up to GCSE or intermediate level, English as a second language and English grammar up to GCSE. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information about my career in teaching and my lessons.

Born and bred in Paris, France, I came to the UK 25+ years ago to work as an animator and graphic designer. I am hence fluent in English and, beside art, I have always been interested in foreign languages: English, Spanish, www.*** In fact, languages were among my choices of career when I was at school. I started my career in animation with an internship in a studio in Barcelona, where I could also polish my skills in Spanish. Being particularly enamoured with English, I did all I could to learn it from an early age: reading books, listening to songs, watching films in www.*** Coming to the UK to live and work was a dream come true.
I worked as an animator in the videogame industry first, then for TV and film. I am also an author and illustrator, with a comic book (involving cartoon animals and motorbikes, among other www.*** ) and a bilingual (French-English) children's book published so far. I also got into designing graphics for t-shirts and the gift industry.
Working on my bilingual children's book, which I wrote, translated from French to English and illustrated, not only made me realise the same story will never be articulated in the same way from one language to another but, led me to think about teaching my own language to others.
So here I am: while I don't hide the enthusiasm and sheer joy I feel in the process of transmitting my knowledge to my tutees, I am also a friendly, patient tutor with a calm and gentle demeanour, always making sure that the words, phrases, and grammar are understood correctly.
I teach children, teenagers, adults, www.*** and will adapt my teaching style to each person's ability, goals and interests. I can teach in person and online on Skype, Zoom, Messenger or anything else that I may not be aware of but that you use yourself.
So feel free to get in touch if you need lessons, I will be delighted to hear from you and, looking forward to working with you in expanding your knowledge of a beautiful language.

Les Puces is a young company aiming to bring something new and fresh to the early years language class market. We concentrate on French as we believe it’s the most useful second language - and because we do it well! Our fully integrated method and the wonderful bilingual books and projects that the children take home each half term are what makes us stand out. With a team of talented illustrators, musicians and creative people on board, we are investing in the future of the children we teach.
Launched in 2015, the Les Puces method has spread naturally across the south east with classes on curriculum and after school classes for primary schools; private classes; and open classes after school and on Saturday mornings. COVID-19 prompted us to perfect our online offering, so we have now added an online/at home course. The project, book and worksheets are sent by post and you then log on to the club area to see online videos which read you the story, teach you the song, help you make your project and take you through the worksheets. Have a look at our website, listen to some songs in the video room or look at the lovely pictures in the playground of things the children make each half term.
Classes are suspended until schools go back fully, but our home learning course is from only £35 per 6-8 week module. We would love to welcome you. Please get in touch to find out more.
