I am a qualified Teacher trained in the UK with 25 years’ teaching experience across a variety of ages and stages within the state school system. I particularly trained as a language specialist working throughout schools supporting my colleagues as an ELP (Early and Primary Language Professional). I have as a result of my accountancy training and additional post graduate learning developed an acute knowledge and awareness of mathematical foundations (that develop mathematical reasoning) and methodology, which I use to further my students mathematical excellence. I pride myself on my ability to identify and resolve students' difficulties, helping them to 'get unstuck' by teaching them the missing skills they need to become competent, independent and enthusiastic learners. Whatever their starting point, I can support them in their journey by providing them with the necessary tools to get them where they want to be. I am additionally an experienced Tutor who has been tutoring both face to face and online closing gaps in children’s learning by ensuring their foundational learning is intact and moving their learning forward so that if their goal is to take independent schools tests or the 11 plus they have the tools to do so.
Additionally I have for the past 2 years been teaching ESL/ESOL, supporting all ages and stages to pass their English Language tests (as well as maths), including Functional Skills and Cambridge tests.

Hello! My name is Rezija (Rezi for short). I am a certified English tutor with two years experience and a TEFL diploma in teaching English as a foreign language. I have a Bsc in Psychology and love playing and watching rugby. I am passionate about travel, and love learning about different cultures and languages. I am natively Latvian, and know 3 languages: Latvian (C2), English (C2), and French (B1).
My teaching is based off my TEFL Diploma which focuses on teaching English as a foreign language. I structure my lessons based off the PPP method: Presentation, Practice, Production. I incorporate communicative language teaching (CLT) as a focus on fluency, and all teaching is done in the target language. I am an experienced fully qualified primary and secondary (grammar) school teacher specialising in the eleven plus (GL, CEM, independent schools) as well as the Kent and Medway tests, and science up to KS3. If you are interested in tuition from September 2023, please do get in contact soon as places are limited and do get filled up quickly. One-off initial lessons are very welcome. I work hard to get to know every child as an individual and to develop an understanding of what makes them feel happy and secure in their learning. I welcome children of all abilities and have good experience of working successfully with children with ADHD, ASD, Down`s syndrome, behavioural and emotional difficulties, dyslexia and dyscalculia.
