I’ve been teaching in a local secondary school since 2004. I have vast experience with both AQA and Edexcel syllabi for both A Level and GCSE. I’ve worked as an examiner for both KS2 and KS3 SATs and can deliver sessions on these levels easily.
I have completed my law degree from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 (65%) and achieved a distinction on the LPC MSc in Law and Business Management. My degree was extremely challenging but it is also intellectually stimulating and broadened my outlook. With three years of experience tutoring English to students from years 5-11 and Maths to years 5-7, I have built a great rapport with my students. They are my mentees and I love being able to give them tips and hints regarding their future education and sharing my learning experience with them. My lessons consist of going over content, watching a video together regarding the lesson content and then completing questions together. I find that my students enjoy watching a video as it breaks up the lesson and makes it a more interactive experience. My lessons are very conversational, as I allow my students to articulate their thoughts, have fun whilst still being productive. My interests and hobbies consist of reading, photography, meditation and exercise.

Hello there,
I am a Spanish and English Graduate from the Russell Group University of Leeds with over 3 years tutoring experience. This began with a mixture of guided reading coaching, teacher shadowing and teaching EFL tutoring in Madrid for two consecutive summers. Here I was entrusted with independently researching and collating my own lesson plans to markedly raise the linguistic level of nine-year-old Alejandro. Within a week, Alejandro could form the second and third conditional clauses in English, a high-level requirement for a student of his age. Personally, this taught me that flexibility is paramount in engaging students and improving their confidence; there is no one-size-fits-all method to tutoring.

I have been a tutor for a few years teaching both face to face and online. To me, the most important thing as a tutor is to really listen to your student and let them explain what they may find challenging about a subject.
