Hello there,
Raising the academic attainment of students has been a deep passion and successful achievement - as a founding former headteacher of a school for 4- 16-year-olds (ten years), a teacher, and a tutor. I have recent English teaching experience at a school (and remotely), in addition to marking GCSE English Language and literature papers. Therefore I am at ease in teaching both key stages three and four students. Over a ten-year period, 98% of my tutees have gained entry into the elite Grammar Schools (a few students gaining scholarships each year too). During the last two years, 97% of my English Language tutees have achieved levels 7-9 in GCSE English Language and 96% in GCSE English Literature.
I am well resourced in teaching face to face or online. An initial consultation with parents, the tutee, in addition to a view of the school reports enables me to gather necessary information about each student. Importantly, the tutorials enable me to get first-hand knowledge of each student enabling me to plan my lessons for the individual.
I look forward to working with you to raise the attainment of your child.
Yasmin

Many young people are being let down by the mainstream education system, which can often fail to meet their specific needs. School exclusions are on the rise, with 6,685 young people being permanently excluded in 2015/16. Children with special educational needs account for more than 50% of those exclusions. The knock-on effect is damaging – more than half of people with no qualifications are unemployed, despite wanting to work.
Many of the young people who come to us have had problems at school, or can’t or don’t want to attend their local college. We get them on the path to success.
Our personalised Study Programmes and vocational courses provide young people and adults with the skills they need to move in to further education, training or employment. We partner with employers to ensure our students are enthusiastic, work-ready and reliable.
I can help with English language, English literature, and general writing and presentation skills. I use the communicative method, so I encourage my students to speak as much as possible.
Having qualified in 2016, I am a fully qualified primary school teacher; who has 5 year's experience working within a number of mainstream and SEN www.*** ;
I have experience in teaching all primary school aged children, especially those children in preparation for their SATs and 11+ exams.
I have worked in a local secondary school for five years, and as Assistant Subject Leader in English for three years.
I currently teach the GCSE AQA Language and Literature specifications as well as A Level AQA English Language and Literature.
I qualified as 'Outstanding' in my teaching practice through the University of Birmingham's SCITT programme. I have since worked in a local secondary school and regularly receive 'Outstanding' observations.
