I have over 30 years experience working with school and university students on their communication skills, spoken and written English, and I have supported professionals with their English development and supervised students for research at university. I have written textbooks for schools on English language and am experienced with developing resources for students and organisations. I have previous experience in tutoring people of a similiar age to me at school in order to help them achieve their desired grades. This included ages ranging from 9 (primary school) to 16 (secondary school) year olds. I assisted many students preparing for exams as well as some students just looking to widen their knowledge and improve their general ability in school. I used a nurturing and gentle approach and plan to do so going forward. I believe that this helped many people to unlock their full potential and prepare them for future exams beyond their GCSEs! Using a slow and steady approach ensures that students can easily apply their knowledge in exams, as well as just understanding the content. Specifically, during my tutor lessons students would be aided through practice papers as well as thoroughly explaining the content to ensure they are fully prepared for stressful and possibly unpredictable exams. Additionally, I have access to a wide variety of teaching and revision resources which I intend on using to aid my tutoring and can be used by students to improve their individual study sessions. My tutoring sessions would be suited for GCSE students and younger only as I will only be starting my A-Levels in September. Lengths of sessions can easily be altered, however a typical one would last between 1 and 2 hours. Again, this can easily be altered to suit a specific students needs.

Hello all! My name is Matt and I am 27 and just about to start my 7th year teaching having started at my school after University and now wish to offer tuition services after school hours in a range of subjects and preparation for 11+ examinations and grammar school entry. In my current post I am Director of Sport and Head of Computing whilst also teaching 2 English classes and a variety of PE and Games lessons. I find that my young age enables me to personalise learning easily, building productive working relationships with children built through humour, trust and common interests.
I specialise in finding innovative methods of teaching, especially for those with learning difficulties as it is my belief that all children are capable if given the right tools to succeed, which can sometimes be a simple fix or more complex. Either way, I take it on myself to try a range of things that may help each individual as every child's mind functions in different ways; this has paid off in my previous classes, especially in regard to creative writing.

Hi Im the Director at Shropshire Tutor. I've been a primary teacher for 20 years with experience from R to year 6.
I found Shropshire Tutor 6 years ago. I have a fantastic team of tutors, who deliver on line tuition from R to year 6. We are currently delivering our Pre School. Little Learner lessons via zoom to over 50 children. We also run year 6 to 7 zoom transition classes, and 11 plus classes for the CEM Durham 11 + test.
We work in partnership with local schools, nurseries and parents to deliver our Little Learners training in phonics and maths.
