Qualified primary school teacher looking to support those during the COVID crisis.
Year 5 teacher in Shrewsbury, UK.
I understand that learning and exams can sometimes be a chore so I make all my lessons funny, engaging and stimulating. I do a range of regional and international accents and my jokes are top-class. :-) I'm patient and encouraging but always aware of why we are together - to improve the student's ability in English.
In my 6 years as Head of English at a local comprehensive school, I have raised GCSE results from 55% pass rate to 90%. 'A' Level results have similarly strengthened and I would regard 'A' Level English Literature teaching as one of my strengths.
I create all my own educational materials and take delight in devising materials that are witty and attractively designed.
In the summer of 2020, I shall be retiring and so have ample time to throw myself into Tutoring in a fully professional and dedicated manner.
Thanks for reading!
Hello all! My name is Matt and I am 24 and just about to start my 4th year teaching having started at my school after University and now wish to offer tuition services after school hours in a range of subjects and preparation for 11+ examinations and grammar school entry. In my current post I am a Year 6 form tutor, Head of Computing whilst also teaching 2 English classes and a variety of PE and Games lessons. I find that my young age enables me to personalise learning easily, building productive working relationships with children built through humour, trust and common interests.
I specialise in finding innovative methods of teaching, especially for those with learning difficulties as it is my belief that all children are capable if given the right tools to succeed, which can sometimes be a simple fix or more complex. Either way, I take it on myself to try a range of things that may help each individual as every child's mind functions in different ways; this has paid off in my previous classes, especially in regard to creative writing.
I am relatively flexibile outside of normal school hours and would be more than happy to discuss sessions to best suit individual needs in regard to time, location and subject(s). Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any queries.

Having recently completed my A levels in French, Business and English Language, I can offer additional support to those in secondary who are currently struggling with such subjects. I attained grade 9's across my GCSEs and As and A*s at A level, enabling me to help students in understanding not only the content of the subjects but also how to structure answers and incorporate exam techniques. I have paramount revision material from GCSE and mark schemes also available to aid learning.
