I am an award-winning writer/editor who has been working professionally since secondary school. Along with my studies in English and Creative Writing at the University of Plymouth, I served as a contributing editor at humour channel Dropout (ironic). My work has been published in The New York Times (online, print, and international editions), The New Yorker, Vice, The Guardian, The Onion, IGN, The www.*** Club, Inverse, Collider, and many more. My humour writing was featured in Slate's "Best Comedy" year-end lists in 205, 2016, 2017, and 2019. I also appeared in Apple's "Best Entertainment Writing of 2019" shortlist, and won the Daily Telegraph's "Young Sportswriter of the Year" award in 2009.
After serving as a private tutor in New York and participating in the city's Big Brother Big Sister (BBBSNYC) program, I returned to the UK to continue to write and help current students of all ages grow in their learning of English Language, English Literature, and Creative Writing. Hi my name is Jeremy L. I’ve been teaching English for 35 years and a fair amount of it online, for the last 20 years. I teach English Language and Literature and English as a Foreign Language. I was head of English and senior English teacher in an international boarding school for over 18 years.
I now only teach online and I’m the founder of an educational training consultancy that offers a range of training for English language.
I have taught a wide range of courses to teenagers and to adult professionals. I also teach a range of examination courses. I also have developed a number of professional courses including the OET which is English for Medicine. I am a preliminary OET provider.
It isn’t just the structure of the language I teach but also the meaning and context.

My approach to teaching is to make learning fun, meaningful and accessible for all regardless of ability.

I adopt a student centred approach to teaching. I believe each student is unique so therefore teaching strategies need to be adapted to meet the needs of each student. I have 13 years experience with tutoring students from aged 6-18 years old. I have experience tutoring students with autism, learning difficulties and selective mutism.

I use a resource called Microsoft Team which allows video call facility and instant messenger. This allows the student to have access to instant feedback and also virtual face to face lessons. Students also receive online certificates that they can print off at home.
