I am a newly qualified teacher who has just graduated from the University of Cumbria in June 2020. This means that I have the knowledge of the up and coming learning theories that could help your child to exceed their potential.
During my placement the country went into lockdown so I did the majority of my teaching online. This allowed me to become engaging and encouraging over online lessons and helped me to see the benefits of learning and teaching online.
It is because of this that I have decided to use my knowledge to help those who feel that they have been left behind at school because of the pandemic, or those who simply want to improve their English skills.
I pride myself on being able to work with children who find school challenging and I have the ability to engage these children with English and help them to understand the more complex themes that this subject can present. I have a lot of experience with students with SEND and I am able to tailor my lessons to each child.
Becuase of the personal nature of my lessons, I am hoping to help engage all students who are feeling left behind because of the lack of school and help them to engage with the English Langauge and help them to be fully prepared for next year.
I also have experience of working with G&T children, within the classroom and online, and pride myself on being able to push those children to gain their potential. I am particualry keen to ensure that these children still go on to gain the grades that they were expecting even with the lack of school.
My lessons will all take place online which means that there is no commuting time for anyone allowing for more lessons at a cheaper price. This also means that students who are shy or do not feel comfortable are able to work from the comfort of their own home and without the fear of meeting new people as they will be behind the safety net of the computer screen.

The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes enable children of any age and ability to build key learning foundations. Our programmes will not only help your child to become a confident learner, they go one step further than traditional maths or English tuition by equipping them with the skills to learn for themselves. Self-learning is an important skill for children as they journey through education and beyond, building independence and ability to progress without reliance on a teacher. Our study programmes provide an economical way to equip your child with the skills that they need to build a bright future.
After an initial assessment, your child will follow an individualised study programme with work set at just the right level. They complete daily worksheets building skills and fluency in small manageable steps, as well as attending tuition groups at their local study centre up to twice a week. An Instructor will monitor and guide your child’s learning development to ensure work remains challenging. Kumon study does not follow any curriculum and work is set regardless of age, enabling children to revisit topics or advance far beyond school material without restriction.

The centre has been recently refurbished and offers a modern and comfortable space to study. This is backed up by extensive resources, both online and paper based, and a sound knowledge of the curriculum with many tutors also working in local schools.
Tuition is by fully qualified, experienced and enthusiastic staff. Our small group sizes mean that each student receives individual attention while studying alongside peers. Each child is working at their own pace and level.
We work hard to develop a positive working relationship with open and honest communication. The tutors are always available to give regular, informed feedback on progress. We are always happy to answer questions or listen to any concerns.
We have created a positive and supportive environment to enable your child to develop and progress academically. We also aim to encourage them to use these skills and their improved confidence in other areas of their life.

I have excelled in my GCSE'S with grade 9's and passed all my subjects. Having studied for the past 6 years towards achieving an Islamic Theology degree, I have grasped the Arabic and Urdu Language. I am an excellent GCSE tutor; evident through the feedback given by my 25 GCSE students. I have previously mentored a year 11 student towards achieving high grades in maths. Chosen as an English Ambassador for A-level students has excelled my experience in teaching. I have completed a teaching enhancement wherein I acquired the teaching standards and efficient methods of teaching. Furthermore, I have completed several teaching courses under Open University. I would say I have relevant experience and knowledge to tutor.

KAYE SOULSBY
Where does one start when describing oneself? Well, I am a passionate, committed teacher of English who strives to give all my students teaching which is appropriate, fun and tailored to their individual needs. I have vast amounts of patience and I am always prepared to try different teaching methods to support my pupils.
After attaining a Upper Second Class Hon. Joint Humanities degree (English & History) and then Qualified Teacher Status, I began teaching in 2001 at Gartree Community College, in Tattershall, Lincolnshire; where I taught English at Key Stages 3 and 4. In 2002, I joined the staff of The Skegness Grammar School as an English teacher, with a brief to drive the standards required for the then new Key Stage 3 SATs; as a result, the school attained the highest ‘value added’ scores in the country.
In 2017, I returned to the UK after living in Spain for several years. Whilst there I taught English at Almunecar International School and then ESOL at Aprendo Idiomas, a language academy in Nerja.
Since returning to the UK, I have worked as a tutor of English at KS3 and KS4, and also as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language to adult students. As a private tutor, I have supported numerous students through GCSE English, both AQA and WJEC boards; it has been a privilege to witness some amazing young adults blossom with confidence and knowledge. In addition to one-to-one tuition, I have taught at the Bolton Tuition Centre, where I had a mixed cohort of pupils studying English at KS3, KS4 and 11+ preparation. Recently, I have become tutor for the A Star Tuition Centre, near Bury. I am also the Lead Verifier (English) for Bolton Tuition and Exams. The past few years have been very exciting, and I cannot wait to meet my new students for the next academic year.

I am familiar with the Eduqas GCSE board with the texts: 'A Christmas Carol', 'An Inspector Calls', 'Blood Brothers', 'Romeo and Juliet' alongside the poetry anthology.
I also teach the GCSE language course which is more reading and writing skills based.
The transition from year 6 to year 7 for students this year will be more challenging than usual so would love to be able to help students bridge that gap.
I have tutored 2 students previously, one before his GCSEs and one in year 6.
