There are so many teaching methods. You might ask how do we chose them. It is very simple. There are three main sensory receivers: auditory, visual and kinaesthetic and they determine how we learn. We test what is your learning style and we select the best methods.
Our school offers tailored lessons. The programme of the lessons will be designed especially for YOU and the methods of teaching carefully chosen depending on your learning style – so the progress is quicker. I have worked with students of all ability and seek to craft my teaching to the needs of the pupil. I have an excellent record of exam success and have often helped pupils achieve the grades they needed to enter the sixth form or go on to university. I have worked on Personal Statements. Each of my lessons is prepared specifically for the individual student. I am happy to talk with potential tutees and to meet them and their parents before any commitment is made. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
I have over 15 years of tutoring experience. I am qualified and experienced in all aspects of SEND.
My subject is English Language, and I am able to teach pre entry to level 2.
My learning journey began with teaching ESOL and I have a level 3 in this field. I then progressed to do a part time PGCE and during this two year period, I did a placment within an SEND college. Following this, I continued to work in the same college for 7 years, before having children.
I have since worked with various agencies and worked as a freelance tutor. I have worked with a variety of leaners with differing needs. I have delivered sessions to profoundly and multiple disabled learners, learners with ADHD, Autism, SEMH diffculties and www.*** ;
I like to use a Mindfulness approach to learning when needed. This is particularly useful for learners who struggle with anxiety.
This approach is embedded into learning experiences and this helps with setting leaning goals, both short and long term.
This is done in a variety of ways. It may be used sublimely, for eg: relaxing music is used in the background. Or, specific strategies can be introduced to the learner. Mindfulness helps with a whole range of learning difficulties, and with great success.

Well, I am a passionate, committed teacher of English who strives to give all my students teaching which is appropriate, fun and tailored to their individual needs. I have vast amounts of patience and I am always prepared to try different teaching methods to support my pupils.
After attaining a Upper Second Class Hon. Joint Humanities degree (English & History) and then Qualified Teacher Status, I began teaching in 2001 at Gartree Community College, in Tattershall, Lincolnshire; where I taught English at Key Stages 3 and 4. In 2002, I joined the staff of The Skegness Grammar School as an English teacher, with a brief to drive the standards required for the then new Key Stage 3 SATs; as a result, the school attained the highest ‘value added’ scores in the country.
In 2017, I returned to the UK after living in Spain for several years. Whilst there I taught English at Almunecar International School and then ESOL at Aprendo Idiomas, a language academy in Nerja.
Since returning to the UK, I have worked as a tutor of English at KS3 and KS4, and also as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language to adult students. As a private tutor, I have supported numerous students through GCSE English, both AQA and WJEC boards; it has been a privilege to witness some amazing young adults blossom with confidence and knowledge. In addition to one-to-one tuition, I have taught at the Bolton Tuition Centre, where I had a mixed cohort of pupils studying English at KS3, KS4 and 11+ preparation. Recently, I have become tutor for the A Star Tuition Centre, near Bury. I am also the Lead Verifier (English) for Bolton Tuition and Exams. The past few years have been very exciting, and I cannot wait to meet my new students for the next academic year.
