NHS Doctor with over 10 years of experience studying and completing exams and over 7 years teaching Maths, Biology and Chemistry for KS3, GCSE and A Level. My tuition approach is listed below.
Each lesson begins with a run-through of the topic and explanation of key concepts with opportunities for pupils to ask questions. Students are then provided with high yield exam questions and worksheets to complete. Questions are then marked together to highlight areas of strength and areas of improvement. An emphasis is always maintained on exam technique during each lesson. Assessments to determine student improvement are provided every 4-6 weeks.
All students are taught how to study effectively using two evidence-based study techniques:
1) Active Recall - Here students create useful revision questions to test their memory of certain topics
2) Spaced Repetition - Here students are taught how to strategically review topics regularly and boost their chances of remembering important exam content throughout the year and leading up to exams.
My classes are always tailored with a personalised programme for each and every student and remain friendly and engaging. All resources including specialised notes for each exam board, revision questions and exam question related to the tutees exam board are provided free of charge. Tuition goes beyond the `hour slot` as students are able to contact me via phone, email and tutor hunt messaging. I also remain engaged with the lesson and do not `clock-watch`.

I've been a teacher and tutor for over 30 years and feel I'm just about getting the hang of it. In addition to teaching content, I focus particularly on getting my students to think more deeply about how and why they study, helping them learn better how to learn, That really is the fun of teaching. Essentially, I try to provide the kind of education and support I would want for my own children. Not that I actually do provide that for my own children, of course; I’ll be looking for some other sucker to tutor those little monkeys. I work in the North Kent area (principally in and around Gravesend and Medway) and specialise in maths and physics, but also run sessions on essay writing (which concentrate on improving grammar, punctuation and structure). Most of my students are studying A-level or IB, but I also run GCSE and 11+ sessions. Although offering individual tuition from time to time, I mainly run small groups, classes and crammers, which provide a better education at far lower cost.
In addition to offering personal tuition, I also produce free video tutorials for those unable to afford help (or for whom a trip to the bucolic paradise of North Kent is sufficiently unfeasible or unpalatable). The library is currently small but will doubtless grow with my children (who are the reason I currently have so little time to make more – either videos and children). In terms of qualifications, I hung around Cambridge till they gave me a couple of degrees to go away, then repeated the trick at Oxford a few years later. I've therefore acquired a bachelors in physics, masters in history/philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in theology. Which displays either commendably diverse interests or an inability to stick at anything. My wife suggests the latter.

This is a good option for students studying for exams or students that need help with more than one subject or for those who wish to have sessions longer than an hour. The summer school is a provision to support GCSE , KS2 SATS and 11+ students specifically with examinations.
The program is set up to train students to:
1. Interpret exam questions correctly
2. Answer questions using key words/phrases, which is critical to gaining marks.
3. Approach exams in a meaningful and efficient way so that they can complete the
paper in a timely fashion.
This is an 8/6 week course where we run multiple 90-minute sessions a week so students can decide how intensive their tuition is by signing up for weekly single sessions or flexi sessions (up to 3 sessions). These sessions are provided
online and at our location.

We are a long established tuition centre in both Hadleigh and Benfleet. Previously Kumon we changed to First Class learning in 2013.
We teach from pre-school through to year 5 in maths and English and from year 6 through to year 11 in science.
We prepare students for the 11+ exams both CEM and CSSE and local school exams.
Students do work in class and also at home, which they return each week. Classes are kept small and so invariably we have waiting lists.
Our 11+ class starts from year 4 so as to give the students a good foundation rather than intensive tuition.
Hi I am Tashi S. a Tibetan-British writer and researcher with over 7 years of experience in tutoring. Having attended a grammar school I began tutoring in Eleven Plus from the age of 15. I then gained experience at Kumon, before returning to private tutoring and focusing on subjects such as Geography and English literature for GCSEs and A-Levels. One particular student that stood out from my experiences was an A-Level student who was predicted a C in their coursework but having worked with him on his coursework for 4 months I managed to move his grade to an A. Also as a native English speaker I am able to tutor in English language. I am currently away from London so all lessons will be conducted online.
