One of the great joys of playing an instrument is to become able to capture the emotive force that the artistes you so admire can evoke.
Discover how they do it. What scales they use, how they create their sublime musical phrases, what their vibrato is like, what ornamentation they favour...
No doubt you want to get a foot in the door fast.
Learn some power chords and play along with your favourite records in the first lesson.
Don't feel abashed about lacking any previous experience. It's not neccessary. I've taken many adult total beginners up to public performance level.
Music theory, Rock, Pop, Acoustic Guitar and Bass Grades.
You don't have to do them but it's nice to be able to guage your progress and if you're hoping to do a GCSE in music or go to a music college being able to show your credentials can be essential to getting an audition.
My students have a 100% pass rate across 30 years.

I am a versatile guitarist, songwriter and media composer known primarily for my work with the London-based alternative pop band Tenacity. I have been teaching guitar independently for the past two years, with students praising me for my unique approach to teaching practical methods of applying music theory, as well as my friendly manner.

Hi, my name is Brian, I am a music workshop leader and a private or peripatetic instrument and music teacher. I have many years of teaching experience from youth clubs and schools in Denmark and in the UK. I am registered on the update service (Enhanced DBS). I am very keen to use my experience and the knowledge that I have to teach others. Educational background: I have attended different music schools and courses both in Denmark and in the UK. I did a one-year diploma course at MI, Musicians Institute (GIT), studying guitar, together with band integration, leadership, music theory, and songwriting. I studied a music technology degree from the University of West London. I am also a freelance producer, session musician, engineer, and songwriter. I am a freelance guitarist based in London, and have just finished studying a BA(hons) Degree in Music Industry Practice at the Academy of contemporary music (ACM). I've played many gigs, from small scale productions, to corporate functions and events. I have also worked with numerous artists in studio and live settings, playing in venues up and down the country. With this first-hand industry experience I can provide the most relevant and practical skills to any of my music students.
I cater my lessons to each of my students! From learning songs via ear, to understanding music theory and Instrument technique, I believe guitar playing should be a fun and gratifying. I am Marty, I am the Owner/Director and one of the tutors at Double M Studios.
I decided to launch DMS due to the passion I have for music and to make it a platform to be able to offer opportunities to students and adult learners that they may not be able to get anywhere else.
Music has been part of my life for a very long time. I was lucky enough to have two of the most amazing guitar tutors that anybody could have asked for. One of which became a very big inspiration for what I am doing now.
