I’m a lively and friendly person. I was born and raised in Malaysia. I speak fluent English. My first language is Chinese. I once taught a group of 5 students English for five months. I am also currently teaching Mandarin on different teaching websites. I have a passion for teaching as the students are always keen on learning. I feel a sense of achievement every time my students learn something new which led me to wanting to teach Mandarin to all age learners. I am very patient and willing to make friends with my students to create a positive environment where my students are welcome to raise any questions and share their ideas. And knowing that there are different types of learners, I desire to create a positive environment to meet the students' unique needs. I always try to use different resources to help achieve the students' potentials.

I am a professional Mandarin Chinese teacher, having taught in a number of institutions. I have two teacher's qualification from China for teaching primary, secondary and higher (university) level. Before settling in the UK five years ago with my English husband, I taught both English and Mandarin Chinese in China at primary, secondary and graduate level for over ten years. Since coming to the UK I have continued teaching Mandarin Chinese to children both in a school setting and private one to one home tutoring. I am good at teaching both online and face to face in interactive and fun ways. I take pleasure in creating very effective resources for private students. My teaching method is comprehensive, covering the four skill areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing. I am hardworking and passionate about the subject and I am always striving to improve my students’ knowledge and skills in Mandarin Chinese via a wide variety of effective teaching approaches. With my support, my students have achieved very good progress. I am a friendly, open, caring, patient, considerate, dedicated and responsible person. I have travelled extensively across China and Europe.
Please feel free to contact me. I would be very happy to teach you/ your child to learn Mandarin and to achieve your great goal! I hope to see you soon! :)
(PS. Please note that currently I do not have a subscription. )

I obtained my Master's Degree in Contemporary China Studies in 2011. Since then, I have been working as a Chinese Teacher after completing my Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at SOAS, University of London. Over the past 5 years, I have taught Chinese Language in various settings including international schools, tutoring centres, and online classrooms.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have also been involved in Chinese writing work such as journalism, editing, and public relations for over 15 years. My students come from diverse backgrounds and work for global corporations. I adapt my teaching approach according to their individual backgrounds and help them utilize their strengths to acquire knowledge effectively.
I believe that each student has a unique learning style, and one-on-one instruction allows for full attention and effective knowledge acquisition. I have experience teaching various curricula such as IB MYP, IBDP, Language B, AB Initio, and Mandarin/Cantonese GCSE/IGCSE (First Language/Second Language/Foreign Language), specifically focusing on learning Chinese as a foreign language, whether it's Mandarin or Cantonese."

Typically, I’d provide 15-30 mins of trial lessons for students. In the trial lesson, I would examine their skills so I would know how to teach them, and I would also let their parent know the problem with their children.
I would also set specific targets with the students so they would know what they aim for each lesson.
Moreover, we would also have some test and review sections so the students could improve themselves.
Additionally, at least one homework per week for students to revise.
A standard lesson would be one hour (60 mins) via Zoom or Google meeting, costing £18.
