Tuition is available for A Level Physics, GCSE Physics, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Science. KS3 Science is also offered.
Tuition is given in 1 hour sessions
Tuitions sessions provided online through the Google Meet platform.
A typical session will involve a short review of previous work and a mix of explanation, verbal questions and exam-style questions to check understanding. Students will complete work during the session using Google Jamboard. This approach will be changed where the tutor judges this is necessary for the ideas being covered or to meet the needs of the Student.
Students may need to print questions so they will need access to a printer.

Hello there!, My aim as your tutor is to ideally help instil a deep curiosity and fascination for your subject, I believe we all have that button inside of us, let us find it! I love to provide the big-picture view and give you the confidence to tackle typical problems in your day-to-day classes. Of course, a massive part of my job is to help and alleviate your completely normal anxiety in answering exam questions under tough conditions, and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. I will indeed help you to recognise and deal effectively with exam trickery. My approach is based on 14 years’ experience that the best kind of learning happens in a state of flow or play! :) As a result, I always aim for a fun environment of respect in which the student is facilitated to make novel connections for themselves. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has unique value to students because of my ability to innovatively resolve students’ personal barriers to absorbing new concepts in a way that lays the foundations for a profound future understanding of the subject. My approach does vary according to the student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching philosophy is based on self-discovery, using real-world examples wherever possible as ultimately you are the self-teacher. I start from topics you are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as your confidence builds. I use questions and examples to concept check continually. I don’t like lecture to students or ask them to memorise their way out. Nor do I do the students’ homework for them but I can help you with it!

I believe the best way to approach a difficult topic is to encourage discussion, before working with exam-style questions, focusing on method and exam technique. At 21 years of age, it wasn't long ago that I was at GCSE student myself and so I remember how frustrating it could be when a topic just wasn't clicking. I'd love to be able to help you feel more confident in your knowledge and ability, and help you build a love for the topics you're learning!
After achieving 3 A*s at A-Level, I was going to study medicine at Cambridge University. However, after serious deliberation, I decided to pursue my passion in acting and performing arts, and so am currently studying a BA in Professional Acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

A little bit more about me:
• Outstanding Academic Record: In my IB exams, I scored an impressive 44/45 with 7/7 in all my Higher Levels (Biology, Chemistry, Psychology), as well as Maths AA SL and French. This is equivalent to all A* results in the A-level curriculum.
• UCAT Excellence: I achieved a score of 2930/3600 in my medical school entrance exam, placing me in the top 6% globally in my year
• Medical School Success: I received interviews and offers from all 4 medical schools I applied to, including Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham, and Bristol, showcasing the quality of my personal statements and interview skills.
• DBS Certified: Ensuring a safe and trustworthy learning environment.
I started teaching back in year 10, when I opened a learning centre at my school to teach English to underprivileged children in my neighbourhood back home in India. I worked with these children for over 2 years, using my knowledge of effective learning methods as a student to help these children communicate fluently in English despite not being exposed to the language much before. It was here that I first learnt the importance of personalising teaching for each student—when every student comes with their own needs and preferences, there is nothing more important then finding a unique and flexible approach to teaching that is fit specifically for them.
For the past two years, since I have started university, I have also been helping students across the UK with 11+ exam preparation, as well as tutoring KS3 and GCSE mathematics. This period of teaching has strengthened my skills as a tutor and given me experience with teaching students of a variety of ages and backgrounds.

My name is Christine Borg. I grew up in a small island where my education led me to a Bachelor’s degree in General Medical Studies. However, the artistic fibre in me eventually took me to London to study Drama and in 2017, I graduated with a Master’s degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
I returned to my family and pursued my other life interests: dogs, target shooting, and SCUBA diving amongst other things. I had to earn a living besides trying to put into practice my Acting career. I managed to balance work and getting some experience in Theatre, TV, film, Radio voice overs and singing.
The best balance of work and satisfaction came through teaching but, after Summer 2019 my life brought me back to the UK, where I now live. I took the first good job that came along, solely to earn my living.
However, I want my work be worthwhile besides being my financial income. Satisfaction in my job is of the utmost importance to me, and I believe I can achieve this through teaching.
My qualifications allow me to teach English to students form 3-year-olds to adults, GCSE level Chemistry, Biology and Physics and Science to 8 to 16-year-old students.
As I wish to continue teaching Online, I use all my experience from my TEFL qualifications and Drama school days to improvise and make my lessons as interactive and as interesting as possible. In English classes, in particular, I can help the students with their pronunciation and conversation by giving them confidence in themselves. I try to apply a positive outlook in whatever I am teaching. Engaging with the student is the basis for learning.
