I have been working in a secondary school in UK to learn more about the Educational pattern here in UK. I have run my own tution centre back in India and have taught 25+ students on Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects for Year 10(equivalent to UK Year 11) and Year 12(equivalent to Year 13,A level). I have worked in software field in India and have a far good knowledge about the modern technical world which I could influence the students to use them in a friendly and safer way. Start from the basics, fill the gaps in your knowledge, have a good foundation and then move on to the advanced concepts is the fundamental idea.
There is a big jump from GCSE to AS- Level standard. Many pupils, who have secured high grades in GCSE plan to leave promising subjects like maths & chemistry just after a few months of studying in the sixth form. My question is: What is the reason?? Very simple pupils are not ready for this transition to sixth form. Parents & pupils, please have a word before making any decision.
