I started tutoring alongside my studies in 2006. I've always found immense satisfaction in those lightbulb moments when someone struggling with a concept finally gets it. Science and especially chemistry is full of abstract ideas and often young people need that extra support from someone who can break it down to just the right level or explain in a way that it makes sense to them. I have a strong grasp on the curriculum and I adapt my teaching according to the needs of the pupils to ensure progress.

Can tutor in most subjects. I'm a friendly tutor and love working with children. All children learn in different ways with different methods and i adapt my tutoring for each child to make them enjoy the classes and get the most out of the 60 minutes. I've taught ages from 4 all the way up to 24. I graduated from University of Leeds in May 2022, getting a 2:1 in Biology, and have worked as a supply teacher in schools all around Leeds since Janurary. I started my full time teaching position after completing a PGCE in Secondary Science, i work at Allerton Grange in Alwoodley. I enjoy teaching A level as well as IB, I specialise in Biology and really strive for my GCSE students to obtain 9’s in Triple Higher Biology. I teach all Triple and Combined curriculums as well as Spanish and French (as I am multi lingual). In my first year of teaching my Year 11 pupils jumped up 2 grades from a 6 in Higher Biology to an 8. I pride myself on being adaptive, compassionate but firm with my exam techniques.
I'm very understanding of different situations and backgrounds children can come from, and adjust teaching materials to fit each individual. I can help with homework and if they need extra help with worksheets i can find some for the right module and topic. I've lived abroad my whole life, so i have an open mind and i'm great at adaptating to new situations. I am a committed, enthusiastic and friendly tutor/mentor with 30 years of teaching experience and up to date knowledge of teaching methods. Since graduating from the University or Reading in 1992, I have taught in a variety of Norfolk schools - both primary and secondary (including an American school here in the U. K.). I have a proven track record of improving pupil achievement in maths and am able to offer tailor-made tuition to meet individual pupil needs - whether the student is struggling to keep up at school, developing confidence or preparing for exams.
Home Educated children I am happy to work with home educators and their children. I have performed in professional opera companies in the UK, and performed recitals and gala concerts throughout the UK and in Northern Italy.
