I am currently a Medical student at Keele and a graduate from the University of Salford, achieving a 1st in my degree in Human Biology and Infectious Disease. Achieving the highest mark within my university. I was responsible for a programme known as GEMMS which is for supporting students in their medicine/dentistry applications, assisting them in interview technique and for the entrance exams.
I have mentored and tutored for 5+ years, helping students to achieve grade 9 in maths. I currently tutor Mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry for A-levels and below.
I am a fun person who particular loves his sports. Seeing the improvement and progress a child can make in a short amount of time is always the best feeling and I strive to help you achieve your goals and beyond. Sometimes having that 1 to 1 session can make all the difference in clearing up any worries about a topic.
I begin my classes by asking the student what they want to learn or discuss during the session. If they have a doubt in a concept, I will ask them to explain the same concept to me in their own words and correct them wherever necessary. I will provide some good methods to study or approach that topic. I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. I strive to get the best out of my students.

A Level Chemistry Tuition
I was a very successful Head of Department and since retirement I have been giving private lessons to students in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, either in their own home or from my home in Loscoe, near Heanor and am also available to provide online tuition via WhatsApp to students located anywhere in the world.
I tutor both home educated and school children and am familiar with all the major syllabi, such as Nuffield, Edexcel and AQA.
I tutor Chemistry up to 'A' Level and Science to GCSE / SATs level and I like to make the sessions both enjoyable and challenging, believing that creating a relaxed, fun learning environment aids the learning process.
As part of the chemistry classes I include techniques for achieving good results in your exam, such as revision techniques and the best approach when answering exam questions.
I am a very dedicated teacher who specialises in biology but am confident in all three sciences.

Previous A'level results are: 100% A*-C, 85% A*-A, 8% B, 7% C. 100% of students got into their first choice universities and 31% achieved placed in medical school. These grades are representative of the results achieved in previous years. 2023 GCSE results were 100% grades 9-7 from students taking higher level papers and 100% grade 5 from students sitting the foundation level papers (the highest grade they could attain).
I have been a full-time tutor for the past eleven years and I am a past Vice-President of The Tutors' Association, the professional body for the tuition industry. I was elected into this position by members of the tutoring profession. I tutor as a full-time profession.

Tutoring Approach
I offer tuition either online or face-to-face at my home, where I have an area which is free from distractions and all my materials and resources are immediately available to make tuition as effective as possible.
I believe in taking a very individual approach to tutoring, adapting approaches and resources to fit the needs of the individual. Prior to commencing tuition we will agree tuition goals and I will work with these to develop a personalized scheme of learning. During tuition I will monitor student progress and keep records of this so that learning and attainment can be tracked and approaches can be continually adapted to meet the developing needs of the learner.

I am an experienced tutor with a PhD in Molecular Biology and a 1st Class Biology degree, both from the University of Nottingham. I am currently employed in a local secondary school where I provide 1:1 and small group GCSE tuition. I also have a full DBS check. I am offering online tutoring to all students - I use screen sharing combined with video chat - you will see the work that we are doing on the screen and I will talk you through everything the same as if I were sat next to you. I am happy to send over any work the day before if you wanted to print it out as well as seeing it on the screen. I have been tutoring maths and science from KS2 through to A-level and have had some fantastic results with students. About myself
I am a 3rd year medical student in the University of Nottingham, who is always seeking new challenges and experiences. Within the university, I was a 2nd year representative of Medsoc, as well as President of Korean society, helping students settle better in the university and guiding them through academics. I was also appointed as student ambassador, helping with the admissions team of the medical school by carrying out interviews for the candidates. Outside of University, I worked as a tutor, helping teach students for GCSE subjects and medical school applications. I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. TEACHING: My goal is to help students understand the content, stay engaged and ensure they enjoy their lessons whilst pushing them to their best. I found through my own revision that learning what type of learner you are is one of the most helpful attributes to revision, which is something I would assist with. Additionally, I want to keep students motivated through their long years of studying as it is a long process and to get the higher grades consistency is key.
LESSON STRUCTURE: A typical length of lesson would typically be an 1hr long. The first half of lesson would be going through a topic which the student is struggling to comprehend or to learn new content keeping the student ahead in school. Then using a range of exam questions to further their understanding of the subject area, progressing from their as needed as every student is different lessons would be tailored towards them.
I have just come to end of a 5 month long stint in an undergraduate research lab at the University of Sheffield where my work focused on understanding protein structure-function relationships so I have experience applying theoretical biochemical concepts to practical scenarios. I have recently been accepted onto a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Leicester.
