Lucy is a classical Soprano based in Greater Manchester, UK: recently graduated with first class BMus (Hons) in Vocal Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, under the tutelage of Jane Irwin. Lucy has performed at esteemed venues throughout the UK and abroad, including: The Royal Albert Hall, The Bridgewater Hall, Snape Maltings and The Embassy of the United Kingdom in Paris. At 21, Lucy made her BBC Proms Solo Debut in Haydn's 'The Creation' at The Royal Albert Hall, with the BBC Philharmonic and BBC Proms Youth Choir - conducted by Omer Meir Wellber - live on BBC Radio 3. For this performance, Lucy received a mention in The Guardian.
Having developed international acclaim, Lucy was selected by 'Gaulitana: A Festival of Music’, to participate in a master class and concert with internationally renowned Maltese soprano Miriam Gauci in Gozo, Malta and was subsequently offered a principal role in Puccini's 'Manon Lescaut'. Lucy also participated in Melofonetica's 'Veneto Opera Summer School' in August - after being awarded a 'Badoer Dalla Rizza' scholarship - where she performed a principal role in Monteverdi's 'Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria' in the historic Teatro Eleonora Duse, Asolo. Recently, Lucy was invited to compete in the 'V. International Music Competition Triomphe de l'Art' in Brussels, Belgium. Lucy accepted a place on the 'Mascarade Opera Studio' Opera Summer School, Florence 2020, and also on Angel Blue's virtual 'Opera Training Studio'.
Lucy has worked with esteemed conductors, including: Omer Meir Wellber, Sakari Oramo, David Parry, Richard Cooke and Martin Andre, alongside acclaimed orchestras including: BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Lucy has received coaching from many professionals within her field including: Janice Chapman, Christopher Purves, Susan Bullock, Martin Pickard, Richard Wiegold, John Ramster, Julius Drake and Matteo Dalle Fratte.
Alumna of the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music, Lucy studied under the tutelage of Mezzo-Soprano, Margaret McDonald. At Chetham’s, Lucy was awarded the 'Judith and Henry Tankel Memorial Prize for Singing Excellence' (2017).
Lucy performs frequently as a recitalist and her performances have taken her to; ‘Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery’, ‘Parbold Douglas Music’, ‘St Mary in the Baum’, ‘Leigh Music Society’, 'Uppermill Music Festival', ‘Manchester Cathedral’ and ‘The Stoller Hall’. Equally at ease with contemporary repertoire, Lucy participated in Manchester Contemporary Youth Opera (2018), (with principal roles in the premieres of contemporary operas ‘Out to Lunch’ and ‘In The Hope of Rain’) and also performing the Mezzo Soprano Solo in the world premiere of ‘Sonetos del Amor Oscuro’ by Maña Mesas (2017). Further operatic credits include the total role in ‘Iolanthe’ (2019) with MUGSS and chorus roles in ‘Suor Angelica’, ‘The Pilgrim’s Progress’, ‘La Bohème’ and ‘Don Giovanni’.
As a member of The National Youth Choir of Great Britain, Lucy has performed in the presence of The Royal Family - live on the BBC - in both the UK and abroad. Further choral engagements have included: Snape Proms (2018), BBC Proms (2018), Mahler ‘Symphony No. 3’ with Dame Sarah Connolly and ‘John Rutter’s Christmas Festival’ with Elin Manahan Thomas.
An accomplished composer (past student of Dr. Jeremy Pike), Ms F. was awarded first prize in Chetham’s Biennial Carol Competition (2016) with her piece ‘A Saviour’s Lullaby’. This piece received its premiere in Manchester Cathedral, and appeared on BBC Primetime Programme ‘Christmas City’. Lucy was commissioned to write opening credits for Leigh Film Festival and her piece ‘Sentiment’, for solo euphonium and brass band, was entered into a time capsule in St. Peter’s Square - Manchester (2016), commemorating the completion of the ‘Metrolink’.
Lucy is the Event Manager of the 'National Student Opera Society UK' and is passionate about sharing her love for opera with fellow young musicians globally. Since being appointed at the organisation, Lucy has hosted interviews and masterclasses alongside top industry professionals worldwide, with her work being nominated for a '360° Opera Award'.
Lucy is delighted to have been awarded a scholarship to study for a Masters Degree at the Royal Northern College of Music and is generously supported by; 'Ann Gerrard Bursaries', 'Sophie's Silver Lining Fund' and the 'Hindley and Abram Grammar School Foundation'.

The Dawson's Academy of Dance and Stage was established in 1987 and in that time has grown from small beginnings into one of the largest, and well known and respected dance and stage schools in the North West. We are very proud of Our Ex-students who have moved on to top Colleges around the country achieving DADA Awards and are now at present appearing on stage in the hit musicals Matilda, Fame the Musical Guys and Dolls, and on the new Wicked tour!

Having completed A level Physics Maths and Chemistry and being an avid musician, I have experience in tackling a variety of subjects within these fields.
My ethos with tutoring is to work alongside my students, understanding each of their unique needs and tailoring their lesson to be as productive as possible.
When studying for my own GCSEs, I witnessed many of my peers struggling to comprehend some of the abstract concepts being taught. Consequently, I began to lead a revision group for several of my subjects; sharing my own knowledge and methods with my peers. These sessions showed to me how fulfilling teaching students can be, knowing you've helped someone reach their full potential. As a result, I was able to achieve an A in several of my subjects, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Studying music formally and singing for 4 years has provided me with a wealth of experience in singing, performance, songwriting and the mechanics of the voice. I encourage my students to find their own style in a safe yet engaging manner whilst improving their formal technique.
I believe when introduced to a new concept the student needs to tackle a problem in a way that they understand. By providing my students with as many tools to face the problem at hand, I believe this is where I make an impact.

I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. I have performed in professional opera companies in the UK, and performed recitals and gala concerts throughout the UK and in Northern Italy. I teach classical styles, as well as music theatre, jazz, folk, pop/rock.

My name is Caitlin A., and I am 22 years old. I am originally from South Africa but spent www.*** years living in Dubai where I completed my secondary school education before moving to England in 2020 to study at university. I have always been very academically driven and received a distinction upon completion of the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) before receiving my high school diploma through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Additionally, I had the opportunity to serve as Head Girl during my senior year. Presently, I am studying Music (Songwriting and Performance) at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and working as a student ambassador at LIPA as well as doing casual work for their widening participation team such as leading and supporting music workshops or directing a small choir of high school students.
In addition to my experience as a student ambassador and workshop leader in a musical setting, I also worked as an assistant teacher for a kids’ theatre summer camp in Dubai. Although this was a short opportunity, I felt it was extremely beneficial in teaching me responsibility, time-management, and dedication. I also learnt how to effectively work with a team as there were other assistant teachers and an instructor. Through my work as a teacher and supporting workshop leader, I have discovered how to plan lessons that are adapted to a specific age group, experience level, learning style etc. and have gained the skills necessary to not only teach a group of students but also in a more personal one-on-one setting. In addition to the above, I completed a job shadowing internship at a modelling agency where I worked in the digital department. My duties involved researching and writing blogs for the website, and administrative work such as updating excel spreadsheets. Not only did this aid me in developing my creative writing skills but it also helped me understand the work that goes into online marketing and brand development. Furthermore, as part of my IB diploma, I completed multiple volunteering tasks in my community including but not limited to painting a mural at school, starting a welcoming committee, and volunteering at church events ( www.*** , cleaning the church).
In addition to my work as a music workshop leader, English is my first language and has always been a passion for me alongside music. I received third place in the 15-17 age group for the Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition in the UAE in 2017 and received the highest grade possible in GCSE English Language (A*) as well as receiving an A in English Literature. As for my high school diploma, I received a B in English Literature. Thus, I am highly qualified to tutor students in English (creative writing as well as literature and comprehension) in addition to supporting them with homework in the subject. With regards to Languages, I have also got a very advanced level of capabilities in French as I received the highest grade possible for my high school diploma (7/A*) and and A in GCSE French. Hello! My name is Greg - I'm a tutor of Music, and I study Music at the University of Cambridge. I hold a 95/100 Distinction in Classical Voice, and A*A*AA grades at A-Level. My future aspirations are centred around teaching/lecturing in music, as well as long-term professional vocal coaching. I'd quite happily describe myself as a flexible tutor: whatever level you happen to be, and whatever it is within music you'd like to accomplish, I will only be too happy to accomodate your interests and craft personalised lessons for you. Ultimately, tutorial structure and content will depend entirely upon your personal goals: Vocal coaching typically focuses initally on voice health and stability, then branches out into techniques specific to your genre/style of choice (Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre, Classical, etc.). Academic music tuition tends to be centred around a given specification for a GCSE/A-Level course, but of course this is down to personal preference. My approach in this respect is to create a sturdy foundational knowledge of the appropriate content: if your course centres around Western Classical Tradition, we will cover the intricacies of functional harmony and symphony structure; if your course is concerned with Modernist Post-Romantic developments in the 20th century, we'll cover aleatoricism and serialism. If you take more of an interest in non-course specific composition and music theory, our study will initially focus around existing works - this will give way to completion of exercises in harmony and orchestration which eventually culminates in independent composition of original pieces.
