PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION
I hold a PhD in Art and Communication with Photography as my field of specialism and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting. I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. My selection for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008 Exhibition in Liverpool and London is one highlight among them.
As an artist and teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty throughout. I offer private lessons to photography students and any other individuals who would be interested in 'how to' technical skills sessions, getting support in college and university studies or in developing a photographic body of work etc. and would be in need for some expert advice. I am passionate about photography and about teaching everybody to learn how to `see` and `think` creatively through the lens of a camera but also without it!
GREEK LANGUAGE TUITION
I am a Greek native speaker coming originally from the beautiful island of Crete. I have been living in England for the last 15 years and I have been teaching privately for the last 9 years. I hold a PhD in Art and Communication and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. These qualifications provided me with a very good command of the English Language. I am very capable of playing between Greek and English and can help English speakers have a wonderful experience of my native language. I welcome all to explore the magic of Greek language and discover a huge variety of English words that come from a Greek root.
As a teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty throughout. My lessons are tailored to your individual needs depending on the specific type of learner you are, your learning rythm, the frequency of our sessions etc. My aim is to give you the necessary support you need to achieve your goals that you set by making the most of your potential.

Personal Description:
I’m a practicing sound artist with a Masters from the Royal College of Art in Sound Design. Sound has always been my passion, incorporating creatively across many types of artistic practice. I studied Fine Art at Brighton achieving a First Class Honours. My thesis at the Royal College of Art was about percussion in social contexts, which was awarded a distinction and published. I am an award wining sound artist (University of Nagoya Prize, 2016) who has exhibited in many prestigious institutions (IRCAM Forum, Paris 2020 & 2021, London Design Biennale 2021). My work communicates science to audiences using sound, particularly young adults and children. Because of this I am often thinking about fun and interesting ways that children and young adults can learn. I continue to work now on sound design, recording and working on personal projects using sound as a medium for enquiry into science and philosophy.
Tutoring Approach:
As a people person I compliment everyone’s innate curiosity for sound. I easily adapt teaching to fit the needs and personality of each student. I try to keep a balance between teaching essential skills whilst also encouraging the student to problem solve creatively and intuitively allowing for efficiency whilst also keeping lessons fun.

Me, myself and teaching
My name is Sofía Borrego Morena and I was born in Andalusia, South of Spain; although I was living in Torroella de Montgrí, in Catalonia, for ages. Torroella is a cultural village with a huge historical past in the middle of the Costa Brava.
I am the youngest of four sisters which two of them are living in England nowadays. Moreover, I have got a son, Arnau, he is studying at Barcelona’s University. He is smarter than me and I feel very proud of him.
I studied Art History at the University of Girona. I used to be art reviewer and now I am looking for a permanent position as a teacher. My master degree and other qualifications permit me to teach some languages as: Spanish, Catalan, French and English for foreigners. I have been teaching languages for students and adults for more than 3 years. In UK, I have been teaching Spanish and French to KS3 and KS4, and I am capable to teach Spanish in KS5.
My students are a bit different than me, when I used to go to Secondary School, same problems but dissimilar behaviours. I found them very active and with clearer ideas that I used to have. For this reason, I try to training hard and catch up about all the new ways to approach to teach.
To sum up, I would be delighted to be part of your educational team at the School. I might be able to offer some substantial and enjoyable lessons.

All professional work can be found here: www.*** www.*** www.*** www.*** My first film was nominated for the Brighton Rocks Film Festival and my latest film is currently on the festival circuit. TESTIMONIALS: "As a DoP on the project I witnessed a professional attitude at all times with a deep respect towards his team and a clarity of style purpose and collaboration with my skills. He is very creative and displays a caring talent towards story telling. In my judgement of 40 years experience in the film biz Daniel is and will make a great writer director." - Ben Cole, DP ("Made In Dagenham") "Daniel and I were fortunate to know each other previously, having worked together on a full feature left-field European film (Alice Through the Looking). Coming together on Gandad there was, therefore, a mutual understanding of style and artistic integrity. Significant discussions and pre-production work also ensured clarity for me, as Gandad, what key objectives were. Daniel’s excellent and clear scripting ensured further clarity. This combination of pre-production skills was therefore instrumental on-set in determining accurate and timely scheduling. Further clarity with DOP added to a smooth and entirely professional approach to achieving timely objectives." - John Locke, Actor (The Darkest Hour).

My online sessions are engaging, lively and purposeful. I aim to make students feel at ease; I am an experienced classroom teacher of both girls and boys and a parent of a 9 year old so know how to make learning as 'pain-free' as possible. I have experience with students of all abilities and can adapt my delivery and resources to suit your needs.
An experienced GCSE examiner, I know exactly how to tackle each question for the English Lang and Lit examinations. I have successfully prepared A-Level students to sit (and achieve an interview in) the Oxbridge ELAT test and my A-Level Literature, Language and Literature students have all achieved their target grades or higher. I am currently working in a school therefore, my availability is online only, after school and weekends. I am very happy to negotiate a timetable, or paired tutoring sessions so students can work on their English with a friend.
I usually use GoogleMeet but am happy to use Zoom.
I'm very happy to meet for a quick chat where we can discuss your individual learning needs and so you can get a feel for the sort of teacher-tutor I am. I also offer a first 20 minute 'taster' lesson free. Please email me directly annielouisebrown at gmail dot com

In my professional work I have been envolved in anything from creating the rock music for an internationally released film, to mixing pop and dance for commercial release, not only this, but I have taught for many years, both in 1-1 environments and in larger class settings.
As mentioned before, I have a wide range of experiences teaching. I aim to implement my professional work within my teaching, for example, showing students the mix for a song I worked on, I explain how I completed the mix, what techniques were used and how they can achieve a similar sound, I then will give them the stems for the project and ask them to work on the track themselves! My goal is to make the student feel as welcome as possible, with the greatest improvement possible in a short time span.

I am an Oxford graduate (Worcester College), with a degree in Literae Humaniores - Latin and Greek language and literature, as well as ancient and modern philosophy (BA 2013, MA 2016) I am also a professional classical singer and conductor, active around the UK. I am a Lay Vicar at Chichester Cathedral, where I sing professionally with the cathedral choir. Friendly, approachable, and professional, I am passionate about teaching and helping people to develop their knowledge and skills.
My business, JB Tutoring, operates from Chichester. I offer teaching and tutoring in singing, voice use, music, classical languages and classical literature. I also tutor online, so I am able to take on students from anywhere. I teach and tutor my academic subjects at a variety of levels, from pre-GCSE to undergraduate and master's level, and my students most often go on to receive A*s and 1st Class results in their examinations. I am also happy to tutor younger pupils towards Common Entrance examinations. I have experience in preparing students for Oxbridge Admissions, and offer such preparation for Classics and related subjects (including Archaeology and Philosophy - please send me a message to discuss this further). I am perfectly happy to take on casual learners - please get in touch to discuss this more.
My language teaching is based on the way in which classical languages are taught at Oxford, and I believe in the development both of analytical language skills and an instinct for the art of translation. For GCSE and A-Level, it is important for vocabulary and grammar to be secure, so I encourage a rigorous approach to language, but one that is interesting. I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with an enthusiastic, patient, and understanding tutor, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil. It is vital to tailor sessions to the student, and I customise my lessons for each student I have based on their needs.

Born in 1950 Paul studied music under Brian Richardson at what was then Chiswick Polytechnic, before being accepted at the Guildhall School of Music to take trombone as first study. After graduating from the Guildhall, he continued the musical eclecticism which has always been his mark, making his living within the fields of jazz, pop, early, classical and contemporary music.
In the eighties, together with Steve Lodder, Marc Parnell and Josefina Cupido, he formed the first incarnation of the band ‘Elephant’, which became a vehicle for his compositions, as well as those of Steve, Josefina and John Warren and Robin Clayton. That first version of Elephant and a duo with Steve Lodder opened the way for Paul to experiment with the use of various electronics and trombone.
He was a founder member of His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts (dir. Jeremy West) and played with The New London Consort, The Gabrieli Consort (Dir. Paul McCreesh). He has also worked with specialist period symphony orchestras such as The Hanover Band, and various chamber orchestras, including those directed by John Eliot Gardiner and Roger Norrington. Paul has arranged and played, for Mônica Vasconcelos’ Brazilian band Nois, and played Salsa with London bands La Clave and Roberto Pla’s Latin Jazz, as well as backing visiting stars such as Alfredo Rodriguez. He played in Bosco de Oliviera’s ‘Folia’, as well as numerous jazz groups.
Paul has performed, recorded and broadcast with artists from a wide variety of musical disciplines including:-
Brian Eno, Cayenne, Diana Ross, Don Rendell, Gallagher & Lyle, George Fenton, George Harrison, Georgie Fame, Ian Shaw, John Dankworth, John Harle, John Surman, John Warren Band, London Jazz Composers’ Orchestra (Dir: Barry Guy), London Jazz Orchestra, Mike Gibbs, Gil Evans, Mike Westbrook, National Health, National Theatre, Neil Innes, Paul Young, Soft Machine, Stan Tracey, The Stranglers and The Albion Dance Band etc.
Currently Paul lives in Brighton where he teaches and works
