I am a passionate teacher who decided to join the education sector as a second career to help students discover the enjoyment that comes from mastering mathematics. My priorities are:
1) Fast progress (minimum 1-2 grade increase in 6 months)
2) Growing confidence, which again bring enjoyment, motivation so better focus.
Qualified at Master level, I completed my teacher training (PGCE) in 2014 and have taught in secondary schools since.
Because I am an examiner (GCSE Higher and A-Level), I know how marks are given, what the common mistakes are and which methods tend to be more successful.
I am aware that many learners experience math anxiety, a condition that can significantly hinder their ability to make progress in mathematics. I pay particular attention to those students who are affected by this challenge. It is important to me that students build an understanding of the subject over time as their skills develop towards mastery.

As a qualified teacher, with over 10 years' experience across the primary phase, I have been able to support children make accelerated progress in their maths, reading and writing.
In particular, I have worked to support children with preparing for their SATS in KS1 and KS2.
I prefer to work with children 1:1 to ensure they get the targeted support they need to reach their potential. I find that in-person support works best for reading.
I have a secure knowledge of how children learn, and have taught all subjects, so I am well-equipped to support children in all areas of their learning beyond English and maths.

I founded my production company – SÉANCE ENTERTAINMENT – in 2007, with a partner from my film institute. And another 3 film series on the cuisine of India (2022-23) – in Lucknow, Kashmir and Bengal.

My name is B. Oluwafemi, a Fine Artist, and a major promoter of African arts. I hail from Ijumu local government area of Kogi state Nigeria with a Degree in Fine Arts (specialty in Art History). I am currently running my Masters in Fine Arts at the UniversityFor The Creative Arts Farnham UK. I also run the Artmazing studios where we offer a wide range of services from murals, graffiti, illustrations, digital arts, body arts and art consultancy with the sole goal of promoting African Arts.
I grew up in Zaria, Kaduna where I got my Degree from Ahmadu Bello University. I began my career as a Makeup Artist after completing my National youth service assignment in Daura, Katsina state and subsequently decided to go into full time art practice. I have always been an experimental person and in my artistry, I decided to infuse Traditional African Art into urban arts to create an Afro-centric modern synergy. My works can attest to this. From completion of my NYSC till date I have worked on several commissioned art projects in Abuja. Some of these projects can be seen in popular locations I Abuja like Jabi Boat Club, Discovery Museum, Trukadero, The Nigerian Air Force, Barlance Abuja, Whiskey Mistress, Nigerian Naval Recreation Center, The Rochas Foundation but the highlight will have to be a graffiti job commissioned for the Queen’s Birthday.
I am also a renowned body artist, stretching the boundaries with lines and African motifs using the human skin as a canvas, to create beautiful and stunning patterns. I have been hosted in several exhibitions and fairs where I worked on body art models and enthusiasts.
I work from my studio space/office where you will mostly always find me sketching out designs on my iPad or painting on a canvas. As far as inspiration, I pick inspiration from any and everything, ranging from works of artists I revere to a simple conversation.
Art is my one sole primary focus and that is why I always seek to give it my all. Art is a voice to me, my form of expression, it speaks when I have no words. It is the easiest way I pass messages on lots of issues. I plan to contribute to my field by using art to tell my African story and discovering new and improved ways to better my country, continent and the world at large.

I`ve been a qualified teacher for 15 years, with 4 years being head of Key Stage 3 and previously head of maths for 10 years in both state and independent settings. I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2006 with an engineering degree before completing my PGCE in mathematics. I worked as a coastal defence engineer for 2yrs before returning to teaching. Over the duration of my teaching career I have completed my Post Graduate Diploma to become a qualified teacher of the deaf, a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education and an a Post Graduate Certificate in advanced audiology. I have taught a range of subjects including the three core sciences and mathematics to GCSE level. I have taught in special schools for deaf children and am well practised in delivering for highly differentiated learning needs, catering for those with significant learning difficulties as well as challenging those who are gifted and talented. In the independent sector I have experience of teaching to the 11+ and Common Entrance levels 1, 2 and 3 in mathematics. My teaching style is focused on the individuality of my students. I pride myself on being able to adapt sessions to needs of students to ensure that they understand concepts rather than just remembering processes. I encourage discovery learning and try to facilitate this as much as possible while still maintaining a suitable pace when prepping for exams.

My background in education is heavily centred around a student-led approach. Teaching art for over 12 years to learners with diverse backgrounds, ages, and abilities, originally starting as a private tutor educating students either studying for GCSEs, A levels, building portfolios for universities, or mature students looking to enhance their technical ability and practice
Alongside my private work, I have taught in group environments to people with learning difficulties and epilepsy at local charities such as 'The Meath Epilepsy Charity' and 'Arthouse Unlimitied' in Godalming. In recent years, my experience in this sector has evolved to teach learners with ADHD, autism, and physical and mental disabilities at establishments such as the Disability Initiative in Camberley.
With this experience, I have learned an assortment of instructional techniques that enable me to connect with different learners on their own individual paths. Due to the nature of the charity workshops, clients are encouraged to create their own personal response to subject matter, a project theme, or even their own personal projects they want to complete for themselves. The versatility of these sessions allows for more time with each individual, empowering them and infusing much-needed knowledge to various different clients with their own unique creativity.
My private and group tutoring roles have been mostly with adults, with vastly different experiences and knowledge. I have learned invaluable interpersonal skills, techniques, and patience while educating, working on group projects, or participating in group discussion. I find my Fine Art Degree background in technical realism a great advantage in helping those who need expert advice on creating realistic art, mixing tones, and perspective. Though my warm and open-minded nature enables exploration with my students to enjoy art for the process as well as the end product. I feel this aspect has been the most important in my experience, as with a group of diverse learners with their own project ideas in mind, the process has to be enjoyable and therapeutic enough for them to return in the future. To explore oneself through creativity is as important for a student studying a degree as it is for a casual beginner.
I believe my experience in teaching would be beneficial to any student wanting to progress their work at any level. While having an ongoing art practice for over 15 years, with a multitude of technical abilities and vast experience tutoring people with different learning capacities, I know I'd be beneficial for any learner of mixed artistic capabilities and interests.

Hello, my name is Philip. I am 31 years old and I am originally from Belfast, currently living in Reading.
I was lucky enough to know from the age of four that I wanted to be a teacher and have never strayed from that goal since. In 2014 I completed my Teacher training at Stranmillis University College in Belfast, receiving my www.*** (Bachelor of Education) degree in Business and Enterprise and since then I have gone on to be the Head of Department for the Business and Enterprise department at a Berkshire secondary school as well as Head of Year.
Tutoring Experience Current Assistant Headteacher at a Berkshire secondary school. Currently teaching GCSE and A Level Business Former Head of Business and Enterprise department at a Berkshire Secondary School (currently rated "Good" by Ofsted). Experience of teaching GCSE, BTEC and A Level Business and Accounting Currently serving as an A Level Examiner for Edexcel and AQA. Four years experience of one to one private tutoring of GCSE, A Level and University level Business students. This has included students who are looking for extra support in addition to enrolment at a School/College and students who are studying for a qualification independently at home. Tutoring Approach
In general, I always endeavor to make Business as interesting and as accessible as possible! I try to fight the perception every day that Business is a 'boring subject'. With help from an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about Business and lots of exam practice, I believe everyone find value in their Business qualification.
What separates myself from other tutors is the emphasis that I place on exam technique in my sessions. In my experience as a teacher I have seen students jump one or two grades ahead purely based on an improved writing style and improvement in their exam technique. With the new increasingly demanding A Level and GCSE qualifications now in place, this skill is now more important than ever. A student can learn their Business textbook inside out, but if they are unable to present their knowledge in the format that the examiner is looking for, they will not achieve their full potential in the qualification.
A Typical lesson of mine would include the following:
Memory Recall starter. Usually 4 minutes given to the student to answer 10 simple recall questions based on previous content. This is an excellent way to help students retain information they may otherwise forget over time.
Delivery of lesson content. A mixture of powerpoint slides, workbooks and other resources will be used here to deliver. I feel it is really important to have an example-heavy approach to delivery, backing up theory with real-life business examples that students can use in their own answers.
Exam Practice. This will typically include some modelling. Usually I will either model an exam answer and ask the student to complete a similar question afterwards, or a half and half approach will be used where I will complete part of the answer and the student will finish it.
Check exam answers. Together we will review the answers and suggest improvements to take forward.

Hi, I am a second year student in Reading studying Primary Education with an English specialism. While my degree focuses on primary, I am a confident instructor all round when it comes to English literature, poetry analysis, and developing essay writing at various academic levels and in many academic subjects.
Exams coming up next year? Do you have the knowledge but struggle to put it on paper? Perhaps you're not a fan of poetry and need help understanding it? If any of these apply to you feel free to reach out.
