CAROLINE LENTON-WARD studied at the Royal Academy of Music where she was awarded the Charles Norman Prize. On leaving the RAM, she was granted awards from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust for further studies.
Caroline has appeared with the Royal Opera, Opera North, Kent Opera and the D'Oyly Carte, and performs regularly with BBC Singers, Sinfonietta Voices and London Voices. Solo appearances have included performances at the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall and Philharmonic Hall with the RLPO, Mozart's C Minor Mass at the Barbican, Messiah with Sir David Willcocks, the role of the Virgin in Honegger's opera Joan of Arc with the RLPO, conducted by Libor Pesek, Verdi’s Requiem in Ely Cathedral, Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony, Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle for the BBC, and Britten’s War Requiem. Caroline was a soloist in James McMillan’s Busqueda for the 10th Anniversary concert of Music for Today series with the Philharmonia at the Royal Festival Hall, and has been a soloist in TV Times Christmas with the Stars at the Royal Albert Hall.
Caroline is a vocal tutor at Goldsmiths, University of London; and was Choral Director and Singing Teacher at Sydenham High School and Grey Coat Hospital School; she set up and ran the Westminster Choral Project and was the founder Musical Director of the Westminster Junior Singers and Youth Choir; she was on the advisory panel for Go Sing singing in schools project. In addition, she has been a member of the BBC Singers outreach team and works as a consultant in Choral Education. She trains the choristers at St Stephens Church Dulwich.

Having taught music privately for over a decade whilst also furthering my own education, I have worked with students of various ages and abilities. Whether it is primary school students picking up an instrument for the first time, helping a sixth form student with their application to a music school or an adult who is looking to round out their playing, I am able to structure lessons to whatever the student’s needs are.
I have a formal music education, graduating from The Academy Of Contemporary Music in 2016 with a BA Honours Music Performance degree under tutors such as Giorgio Serci and Frank Tontoh, with experience of a wide variation of musical situations that I use to inform my teaching such as: big band jazz orchestra (NYJO), musical theatre, pop/rock groups, solo instrumentalist, lounge singer, classical/contemporary vocal accompaniment, live event manager and studio engineer assistant.
With my education and experience, I am a great teacher for students at any stage of their musical journey. I love seeing students progress and take particular pleasure when students carry on learning even after our lessons have finished (when they may to go university for example).

I am a professional violinist, violist and conductor, studying for a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge. As a Supervisor in the Faculty of Music, I teach undergraduate music students at Cambridge. I also teach conducting, violin, viola, and chamber music at the Saffron Walden Centre for Young Musicians in Essex. With over nine years of tutoring experience, I also offer private tuition in violin, viola, orchestral conducting, music, music theory, philosophy, history, essay and dissertation skills, english literature, classical civilisation and violin performance.
From the age of 17, I have taught violin and viola to a variety of students, ranging from children and adults beginning their studies, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills.
Alongside my MPhil studies at Cambridge, in which I specialised in the cultural history and musical aesthetics of Germany and France in the Long Nineteenth Century, I began working as a freelance academic tutor, and taught Music, History, Philosophy, English Literature, Dissertation Skills, and Classics to A-Level Students. I have since developed two years’ experience, in which I have taught over 900+ hours of educational content with a diversity of tutoring organisations and online education platforms. Approach to Teaching
– I favour a structured approach to teaching. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. I also inform the design of my classes through a constructive dialogue with my students. This enables me to structure my lessons within a curriculum that meets my students' specific educational needs, and serves to enable my students to achieve tangible improvements in their academic performance and musical ability.
Academic Tuition
– My academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with.
– I employ a seminar style format, in which I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary which my students can use to develop essays, essay plans, revision tools, and exam revision packs.
– I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli.
– I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing short points of rest or temporary closure, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises.
Musical Performance
– Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements.
– I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece.
Lesson Structure
– Academic lessons tend to be 45–60 minutes in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed.
– Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements.

I am a versatile guitarist, songwriter and media composer known primarily for my work with the London-based alternative pop band Tenacity. My name is Panos, a professional musician hailing from Greece and currently based in the UK. I earned my Jazz Guitar degree from the esteemed Philippos Nakas Conservatory in 2014, studying alongside some of the most renowned musicians in the country.
In 2018, I decided to broaden my horizons and moved to the UK to pursue my passion for music. I graduated with a BMus in Music Performance and Production from the University of West London (UWL), where I gained valuable experience and expertise.

Dominique is a recent Master's graduate from the Royal College of Music and has teaching experience of over five years. In line with her passion for sharing music, she believes that anyone can succeed at learning to play an instrument with the right support and environment. Using some elements of the Suzuki method, such as listening, imitation, and memorisation, and combining these with note-reading, rhythm, and musicianship skills (playing alongside other musicians/recording), Dominique can see her pupils make significant progress in each lesson. Because playing an instrument is physically challenging, it is essential to spend a constant amount of personal time for practice between lessons, which Dominique recognizes from her own experience as demanding. This is why, in each lesson, she discusses and makes a plan with her pupil regarding the practice structure, as well as being available for any questions during the week, on the phone and via email.
Currently I'm teaching lessons on Zoom which works really well. I can teach GCSE and A Level as well as prepare students for instrumental and theory exams. I have also taught adults in the past.
Joanna is a polish cellist based in London. She has made her debut as a soloist performing Goltermann’s Cello Concerto in G-major at the age of 12 and has since appeared in concerts and festivals around the world as a concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber as well as orchestral musician. As a soloist she has performed in many renowned concert halls in Europe, Asia and United States as well as at important festivals. In 2017 she made her debut on BBC Radio 3. With a broad range of repertoire, her musical specialisms encompass works from the standard repertoire alongside lesser known pieces. In her recitals she often includes new works, many of them written especially for her and dedicated to her.
Joanna is a founding member of the award-winning Bukolika Piano Trio. She also collaborates with the guitarist Mario Kurtjak as well as with the Rowan Cello Quartet. In January 2020, she received her PhD. Her doctoral research as well as her CD album focused on music for the cello by Kaija Saariaho as an example of new qualities of sound and expression. Joanna received a scholarship from the Clumber Studio to study with Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated with Distinction in 2018.
Joanna is a highly demanded teacher, and holds a position as an assistant professor at the Academy of Music Krakow in addition to her ever-expanding class of private cello students across London. She is also involved in the promotion of music by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Estevez, whose music is well known in South America but still undiscovered by many audiences.

My professional activity led me to work in several orchestras as performer, and in institutions as upper- string and chamber music teacher. I lived and worked in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and since 2012 I made London my home, where I developed further teaching experience within the British system. I have also founded "The Geminiani Project" ( www.*** ) of which I am the director and the leader of the Camerata Geminiani, ensemble that has been invited to perform in England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden.
At the same time I have established my ensemble, I have also launched the Geminiani Youth Orchestra (formed by young musicians aged 6 to 17 years old) as I believe in the importance of giving an opportunity to young players to perform together, and the amateur ensemble Hampton Chamber Orchestra; we performed with both orchestras at various venues in London.
Regarding my teaching technique, I believe that each student is different and unique, so the first thing I try to do is to establish a connection, then I try to understand the major skills and major difficulties of the student in order to develop a personalised system; I pay much importance also to the emotional aspect the student is dealing with in order to build passion and love for music. I strongly believe that, once achieved a technical skill, the student must have the chance to play with the teacher and experiment the excitement of making music together.
I have experience in preparing students for auditions, competitions, or ABRSM/Trinity exams with excellent results; I love what I do and I love to see my pupils achieving high level results. I am available weekdays after 4pm, Monday mornings and weekends up to 2pm. I also teach throughout school holidays. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I have students of all ages, from 5 to 95! I teach all grades in singing from total beginners to professional performers and have lots of experience preparing students for auditions and music theatre exams. I teach up to grade 5 piano and recorder as well as teaching music theory. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? ABRSM graded exams. Entrance to stage and drama schools. Auditions for music theatre, West-End shows, TV, films etc. - Do you have a personal message for students? My priority is to bring out the best in each individual student and to make our lessons as enjoyable as possible. I don't have a fixed teaching method but like to adapt to the interests and natural abilities of each student, so each lesson is an exciting experience for the student and myself.

I have been performing professionally for over 35 years in opera, concerts, music theatre, pantomimes, TV and film with companies as diverse as the English National Opera, the Israeli National Opera, Covent Garden Opera House, BBC radio, La Scala (Milan), Earls Court etc. I have worked at English Martyrs Primary School, Hawley Infants and Kingsgate School for 14 years as a singing teacher, accompanist and recorder tutor. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes. I am CRB checked and hold a Child Chaperone License. - Where and with whom did you train? Leeds College of Music with Stiles-Allen and Owen Wynne. Royal College of Music with Hervey Alan and Marian Studholme. Israeli Opera with singing Professor Maria Buday. St. Cecilia Conservatori, Rome, with Paolo Silveri. Actors Centre in London with various teachers including Mary Hammond and Mark Meylan. Piano at the RCM with Yu Chun Lee and Ian Lake. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? Mario R.: music teacher, bass player and composer.
Mario R. started his musical journey at the age of 9 and was inspired by his father and a friend from school to take up the piano. He took private lessons in Piano, Music Theory and Harmony for 6 years and continued his studies in several music schools such as Professional Musician Institute, Lino Liviabella, Bettino Padovano across Italy. Throughout his musical career, Mario’s most influential teachers have been Massimo Morganti, Giuseppe Continenza, Gary Willis, Gabriele Pesaresi, Phil Peskett, Simon Purcell, Steve Watts, Andrea Solarino, Paul Westwood and more.
Mario attended Arcevia Jazz Feast Summer Camp from 2008 to 2013 which led to masterclasses in Improvisation, Music Harmony, Composition, Arrangement, Bass Technique, Ear Training with some of the biggest artists and composers in the world music scene that included George Garzone, Bob Brookmeyer, Ayn Inserto, Scott Henderson, Gary Willis, John Stowell, Bob Mintzer, Dave Holland, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Scott Henderson and more. In 1990, Mario began studying bass guitar and playing also piano and keyboard in several bands.
Since 1997, Mario has been teaching music privately in schools while working as a professional musician in several Italian and UK bands. His musical expertise as a performer and teacher spans genres from Rock, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Latin and Electronic music.
In 2013 he moved to London where he is now based and completed his Bachelor's degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and specialised in Jazz Performance and Composition.
Mario is currently teaching Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele and Music Theory (including ABRSM Grades), Harmony and Improvisation to students of all levels and ages in London as well as students worldwide via online platforms.
Hi. My name is Tarquin www.*** I teach an assortment of musical threads, mainly piano and theory, and also in composition, be it songwriting or film soundtracks. I am a flexible teacher, in that I try to meet the learner wherever they are at, and seek to teach them in a way that suits their learning style. My background is both classroom teaching and ono-to-one peripatetic and I have taught throughout all Key Stages and all abilities. I am also well versed in Music Technology (and have taught it) which I use to create soundtracks, and ambient pieces.
I am a believer in rewarding effort and thus discipline is a firm asset in my students. I am both congenial and engaging as a tutor. My sense of humour is unique and perhaps it is why I love Music full stop!
