My students have gone on to study Chemistry, Engineering and Physics at Universities including Oxford, become successful entrepreneurs, become teachers and gain places on competitive Apprenticeships.
I have helped students get into the school of their choice and improve their confidence. I love helping students of all abilities find strategies that work for them.
Every student I work with has personalised lessons which address their weaknesses, focus on effective learning and maximise benefit from lessons.
Please get in touch to discuss how I can help you.

I source most of my tutees via word of mouth recommendation and through my facebook page Milborne Maths. This academic year, I had a few resit students approach me therefore some slots have opened up mid way through the year now they have sat their exams which is unusual! I am usually fully booked by now and having to turn people away - so you may be in luck!
I use the zoom platform to host my lessons and have an online calendar that students usually book from.
Please message and I shall do my best to accommodate both of our needs and hopefully we are suited for maths lessons together!

I am a fully qualified teacher of mathematics with many years' experience in both teaching and private tutoring.
My tutoring style is enthusiastic and responsive, placing emphasis on students feeling safe to practice their mathematics in a supportive environment. Students are encouraged to engage in problem solving with the concepts they have learned to actively develop their understanding.
I believe the key to a good learning environment is to build the confidence of the student by reinforcing their understanding and boosting their self esteem. My tutoring is tailored to the individual student which ensures that each session is as useful as possible and is always a positive learning experience.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy running and improvised theatre. In the last few years I have run the Brighton Marathon and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

I completed my PGCE in Secondary Maths in June 2017 as an outstanding trainee teacher and have continued engaging in my own teaching development since. Before that I was a SEN specialised Teaching Assistant. I demonstrate a strong work ethic to my students by currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Professional Development in Education through the University of Exeter. I have been teaching year 7 to 11 mathematics for the past 3 academic years, with informal experience before that through outreach programmes at my university. I enjoy adapting and refining my teaching to the needs of the student, whether that be due to gaps in knowledge, low self confidence, teacher absence, or learning needs. I have experience teaching students with Asperges Syndrome on a one to one basis, along with dyslexic, dyspraxia, echolalia, cerebral palsy and ADHD. I truly believe that everyone is able to be successful with mathematics. I design my lessons to build on previous knowledge, increase confidence and head for success. This is tailored to each individual student by analysing past work and mock exams. I am familiar with the Edexcel, OCR and AQA curriculum and the recent changes to the GCSE syllabus. I have recently been an Examiner for both Edexcel and OCR, affording me a robust knowledge into expectations and outcomes for GCSE examinations.

I have taught widely across the whole of Key Stage 2 but specialise particularly in Year 5 and 6 and ensuring that all pupils are academically, socially and mentally ready and prepared for the transition to secondary education. This is vital to ensure that they continue to fulfil their potential and make the most out of opportunities available to them.

There are times when young people need some extra help; maybe they have a learning difficulty that makes mass education too traumatic for them, maybe homelife or pressure from school or peers has become too chaotic to cope.
Whatever the reason they may have for losing confidence or interest in education; Innovate wants to help.
At I., we believe it's vital to help young people regain their momentum and enjoyment of learning, so they can quickly re-join their classmates, but sometimes a more extended, more planned out approach is necessary.
Our Tutors are patient and supportive and follow the same practice as our Mentors to build a solid professional friendship based on mutual trust and respect.
Aiming to support the learner reintegrate back into education or those who intend to complete English and Math Fundamentals level 1 and 2 and planning to proceed on into further college education.
Innovate Tutors can also help if a “Managed Move” for a student is taking place, by keeping the young person engaged with education until the move is complete and the student is settled in.
