Current Student Feedback Testimonials:
"Neil exceeded all expectations with my son, in just a few months he helped him enormously to achieve a grade he was proud of" L Shaw
“Neil is a brilliant Maths Tutor, and his approach is completely different to what we have experienced before, he challenges both my children and lets them produce the answers as well as pushing them further to their full potential. I am incredibly pleased to endorse Neil and his teaching style” Reena
“I engaged Neil’s services after my daughter in year 11 had done some mocks. Maths was the areas she struggled with the most and didn’t feel confident. She’s in set 2 and doing the higher paper. She felt she was lagging her classmates. Her teachers have predicted her a level 5 but said she may just scrape the grade; Neil came as a recommendation, and it was the best thing we ever did. He is friendly, kind and patient. In just 8 weeks, her confidence has soared, she now understands things that she has previously struggled with. At the end of February, she did a second set of mocks. We have only had one paper back so far, but she’s scored significantly higher marks than before. I am confident Neil can help my daughter achieve a level 6 or higher. Would highly recommend!” Claire
“Neil currently tutors our 15 years old daughter in the build up to her GCSE Mathematics examinations next year. His ability to instil confidence and remove a level of anxiety has helped enormously. Bringing a sense of fun and calm to the subject whilst being prepared to change the plan for the lesson based on struggles that week, has also meant that issues have been addressed real time.
When a topic has been particularly difficult Neil knows when to change tact to remove the pressure and then come at things from a different angle.
Treating our daughter with care and respect whilst praising her for her achievements and breakthrough moments, has without doubt moved her nearer to the results she hopes to attain and for that we’re incredible grateful.
We will continue to work with Neil and would recommend him without hesitation “
Mrs N Jinks
“It isn’t easy finding a good tutor for any age. Neil has been great with my son, working at his pace and identifying the gaps to help him improve his grades at A level Maths, He relates well with my son and has a good working ethic.
Neil keeps me informed of my son’s progress. Considering the prices around Wilmslow, Neil is very reasonable and very good at what he does, which is reflective in my son’s academic performance.
As a parent who has had both kids tutored from primary age, I would highly recommend Neil “

My experience has made me an expert in helping tackle exam nerves, as well as preparing you for whatever the next education step may be (from reception all the way up to A-levels). As someone who didn't take their own A levels that long ago, I have lived experience which makes me an invaluable tutor and teacher. Having now achieved QTS, I have obtained crucial and groundbreaking techniques which will help elevate your child to their aspirational goals.
Throughout my tutoring career I have received constant 5 star reviews and have helped many children and young people. I cannot wait to begin our next educational adventure.

Teaching is my vocation and I am committed to investing a great amount of time and effort into professional development, craftingpedagogy, curriculum knowledge and a deeper understanding of the education landscape including the changes to the new Ofsted framwork. I place great emphasis on fostering positive relationships with my students, always identifying new ways to meet their needs, and developing the whole child, whether that be academically, socially or emotionally. Pupils leave my class as happy and confident individuals with a thirst for knowledge to develop their enquiring minds.
I graduated from Edge Hill University in 2003 with a BA (hons) in Primary Education and Physical Education with QTS. In 2012 I was awarded The National SENDCO award. I have more than 17 years teaching experience in years KS1& 2, including Y6. During my career I have held additional curriculum responsibilities for PE, DT, Science, Maths, SEN and Computing, I also hold Maths Specilaist Teacher accredication (MAST). Leading these subjects has allowed me to work closely with other colleagues to shape the curruculum design and delivery by creating schemes of work which are exciting and fun, enriched with first hand experiences. Most recenlty, in my current school, I was fortunate to support Teachers developing the Maths curriculum form EYFS and KS1. I was able to provide support and guidance so that colleagues could implement to better meet the needs of their pupils in these critical early years. The positive outcomes afforded me the opportunity to then support whole school maths with a specific focus on the more able pupil where I was able to eviedence a signifficant improvement in results. I found these experiences very informative and rewarding.
As an experienced Teacher, I recognise the importance of robust systems and processes, I use formative and summative assessments in addition to marking books to track and monitor pupil progress. I forensically analyse data to inform my planning, ensuring there are no gaps and pupils have a secure knowledge before moving onto the next topic. I aim for lessons to be well thought and purposeful with the right balance of pace, in order to stretch and challenge all levels of learners. I believe in delivering high quality lessons that are fun and engaging that require teamwork and participation, I listen to pupil feedback so I understand how they like to learn. I aim to support students address any misconceptions during lessons and promote independent learning, peerand self-assessment in the classroom. I incorporate blended learning and the use of technology my lessons. Recently I have created films about WWII, the plague and many other subjects. I plan lessons to meet the needs of all pupils including those on Learning Plans for SEND and high attaining pupils. I believe in creating a stimulating learning environment where pupils can challenge themselves.
I actively engage and welcome other professionals, including class teachers, teaching assistants, SLT and consultants, to secure my judgements of pupil achievement and lesson observations. I recognise this validation of what good or better teaching looks like enables me to share best practise and maintain a high quality of teaching and learning. Working with others to moderate assessment data also ensures my judgment is accurate, it allows me to reflect on my own practise.
As an active member within the school community I forge strong relationship with all stakeholders including multi agency partners. I have always built strong relationships with parents as I believe this is key to ensuring all pupils can thrive. In my role as SENDCO I line managed a team of support staff and It was my primary role to ensure all students needs are met in line with their EHCP. I was required to be the registered lead professional during reviews and liaise between parents and multi agency to ensure each child was offered the right support inside and outside of school.
Outside of my classrooms I have developed community links by taking a lead role in enrichement and after school clubs. I am a level 2 Football and Cricket Coach. In my previous school I led the football, cricket and running club. I have a love for sport and understand the importance of instilling healthy habits in children and the positive effects it can have on their mental health and wellbeing. Through my involvement in these sports I have developed good links with other schools, both primary and secondary whereby pupils have been able to competively take part in a variety of sporting fixtures. I thoroughly enjoy working with children during these extra-curricular activities as it not only teaches them new skills but the children also get the chance to shine when using existing skills. In addition to this, the children learn life skills such as; social skills, speaking and listening skills, teamwork, tolerance and develop leadership skills. I always look to involve myself in the delivery of clubs regardless of my role in school.
As well as sporting clubs, I have organised Maths clubs using exciting problems. One area that I am passionate about is engaging and including parents in the curriculum. I delivered parent Maths classes to provide skills and confidence for parents supporting their children with their homework. It proved to be very popular with parents and children notebaly, parents became more engaged with the work their children were doing. The importance of opeing up the classroom for parents anddeveloping these links has direlcty contricbuted the young peoples confidence in their educartion. I would be very keen to secure these links again.
I hope that I have evidenced my love of teaching and demonstrated my work ethic as an outstanding practitioner.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew H.

During my A-Levels, I tutored students from Year 7 to Year 11. This allowed me to be aware of the latest curriculum of each subject and I understand the importance of this as this is one of the ways to achieve success.
To start with, I use a diagnostic test and then tailor my lessons to suit the students' learning styles. I believe this helps the student to grasp the knowledge quickly and understands it well. I prepare the lesson materials similar to exam-style which is crucial for students to score higher grades. I make quizzes for every lesson to start and end with that tell me about students' prior knowledge as well as what the student has learnt in the lecture so that we can build it up later in revision sessions. Giving out homework to finish in their own time, is another way I use for students to understand the topic well enough.
My aim will be to have an impact on students' lives and change the way they view learning.

I have five years teaching experience, successfully teaching GCSE and A Level classes (my 2 years of GCSE classes got on average over +1 grades higher in progress nationally); I have taught A Level Maths for four of those years, again with many going on to achieve A and A*s, but also those who struggle making progress to where they want to be; I have also tutored alongside this so have experience of working one to one both in person, but also online using zoom professionally in this current climate; I feel I am a personable character who gets on well with students, engaging them and always believing they can do more than they believe - which I think is so important in success; I have ample resources and clear concise explanations to try and make maths as simple as possible to understand and progress with; Before recieving my degree in Mathematics and Business, I received A*s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics A Level.

Hi!
I’m Shreya G., a second year medical student in the UK. I enjoy learning just as much as teaching, and its a great learning opportunity for us both. Considering my medical background, I find teaching science and maths favourable. I also have a good understanding of the recent exam patterns and curriculum, as I have recently done it too.
I have taught multiple age groups in the past, and have had positive feedback that shaped me into the tutor today.
I believe that each student needs a different style of teaching, and thus base mine accordingly.
My previous students would describe me as a fun, energetic and engaging tutor, who relies on quizzes and mock tests to keep you engaged. Expect to be on your toes the entire time, and not just sit and listen. Alongside explaining, I like to formulate my own resources- like notes, whiteboards and flashcards- with tips and tricks learned from personal experiences that you won’t find in a textbook, free of cost
Though I believe a normal lesson lasts about 1-2 hours, this is totally dependable on the student themselves.
I look forward to teaching you and learning more about you, while making sure you have fun with my teaching and learn something new!

I find the best way to learn subjects such as science and maths are to practise them and put your skills into use. However, I understand that if the foundations for these subjects have not yet been built it can feel disheartening only doing practise questions. That is why before teaching u first assess the level that my student is currently at, identify weaker areas and then proceed to teach and test in an engaging and interactive way. Another one of my main principles is making sure my teaching is thorough, covering all course content is key to great grades.
I myself am a 2nd year medical student at the University of Manchester and am from Harrogate, I have always loved science but also have a passion for languages. I have tutored before back at home and through that found I have a love of teaching and sharing knowledge. I have also taught English and Spanish these past two summers in camps- I think knowing something is one skill but being able to convey and teach that information in a helpful way is another skill which through practice I believe I have attained.
I would love to start teaching again I help will help you get the grades that you need!
