I completed my PGCE in Secondary Maths in June 2017 as an outstanding trainee teacher and have continued engaging in my own teaching development since. Before that I was a SEN specialised Teaching Assistant. I demonstrate a strong work ethic to my students by currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Professional Development in Education through the University of Exeter. I have been teaching year 7 to 11 mathematics for the past 3 academic years, with informal experience before that through outreach programmes at my university. I enjoy adapting and refining my teaching to the needs of the student, whether that be due to gaps in knowledge, low self confidence, teacher absence, or learning needs. I have experience teaching students with Asperges Syndrome on a one to one basis, along with dyslexic, dyspraxia, echolalia, cerebral palsy and ADHD. I truly believe that everyone is able to be successful with mathematics. I design my lessons to build on previous knowledge, increase confidence and head for success. This is tailored to each individual student by analysing past work and mock exams. I am familiar with the Edexcel, OCR and AQA curriculum and the recent changes to the GCSE syllabus. I have recently been an Examiner for both Edexcel and OCR, affording me a robust knowledge into expectations and outcomes for GCSE examinations.

I'm a qualified German & French teacher ready to help you with your language learning. I speak German fluently, as well as intermediate French and Dutch - I've a passion for both spoken and written languages and spent a year living and working in southern Germany during my degree. I am a patient and empathetic tutor - I like to use my compassion to help simplify the more challenging aspects of the language. I have experience teaching in secondary schools as well as tutoring friends and family and know how important 1:1 support can be, particularly with difficult German grammar! Whether it's vocabulary learning, comprehension, listening or speaking, I'm able to help with whatever you're struggling with. I look forward to helping you out soon :)

i have 14 years experience as a driving instructor and 3 yrs experience as an instructor trainer. I have a daughter who is about to start year 1 at school, having just completed reception. I found helping with homework and explaining things to help her understanding really easy so has made me feel like I could easily help more young children with their education.
I am DBS checked, but more than happy to take another one if necessary.
