I'm a well qualified History and Politics Teacher who has been tutoring GCSE and A-Level for 3 years. I love planning and teaching exciting lessons and helping to improve progress through accessible learning. I have taught a wide range of history from the ancient to modern day period. I have extensive knowledge of British and American History and Politics as well as Europe through both World Wars. As well as this, I also have a strong knowledge on the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period at GCSE and A-Level. I am also well educated in Irish history and have also extensive experience teaching social issues in Religious Education. I plan and teach using a variety of fun and exciting resources and tailor my activities to the specific needs of each student . I am currently focusing on improving my clients' understanding of exam questions and structure, helping students to focus on the key points of what the paper is asking.

Having worked within Additional Educational Needs at Alderwasley (with A level Politics and GCSE History and Citizenship students); City and Guilds English and Maths at both Red Tape and Sheaf Training; AQA English Language at the SUFC Academy (ah, the enemy!); an EFL tutor at Birkdale; an Edexcel GCSE History examiner and privately in the subject areas of History, Politics, Drama and English Literature, and a spell at both Low Edges and Atwood Primary with many a colourful unicorn, I feel my abilities have been sufficiently honed to provide an insightful, compassionate and dedicated individual, who, not only loves his disciplines and the thrill of communicating, but does so with a sense of humour that only years of being a SWFC fan and Labour voter can bring. Moreover, my experience of performing has equipped me with the talent to convey information with erudition and intelligence. Incidentally, some of my plays have been produced in Sheffield, Leeds and London with the good folk of Leeds having had the equal good fortune of witnessing me grapple with musical theatre.

I have had experience working in primary schools for almost two years now, working with children with SEND and SEMH difficulties as well as other children to help them achieve their full academic potential. I have delivered 1:1 and small group based interventions in age ranges from 4 years old in their early years all the way up to 11 in the run up to SATs. I have spent a lot of time working with children who had the academic level of several years below their age group however after sometime of 1:1 intervention they have thrived and caught up with their peers. Not only have I worked with children for their academics but I have also worked with children to help give them the opportunity to learn self regulation and mental health support. This has come from a wide range of support programmes such as zones of regulation and social detective. I pride myself on how fun and engaging I like to make my time with children and with how much of a difference emotion coaching can make to their lives. In the run up to SATS I worked in delivering intervention based lessons to our cusp students to help them go on to achieve greater depth in their SATs but also to help children who believed they couldn’t do their SATs.

Hi, my name is Kitti S. and I am a History teacher in Ilkeston. As schools are closed I know that this is a very difficult time for students and families. Because of that, I am offering online tutoring for free for anyone who needs it but cannot afford tutors at a competitive price.
I am teaching History at the moment, however, I have had several private students in the past for Mathematics and I have confident subject knowledge in it up to GCSE. If your child finds these subjects difficult, need help with their online work given out by their schools or you just need some time when your child is occupied by something useful while you are working from home, I am here to help.

I am an undergraduate student in History and English Literature. I have experience working with children as I completed a summer of Camp America in Pennsylvania where I was responsible for twelve primary school children. I also have experience working with children in my local primary school where I helped students prepare for their English Comprehension SATs exams. I volunteered at my local secondary school, assisting in History teaching from year seven to year thirteen.

I focus on active knowledge recall and mastering exam technique to increase attainment at GCSE and A Level.
Tutoring Experience: I have six years' experience teaching History (Key Stages 3 to 5) and Politics (A Level) to both girls and boys. I also prepare students for Oxbridge entry.
Tutoring Approach: I plan my sessions focused on the individual needs of tutees, striving to use my in-depth subject knowledge to provide effective, easy to understand active learning tasks and content summaries to develop knowledge and understanding. I also develop skills tailored to exam board specifications, focused on the key areas examiners are looking for.
I have particular experience in AQA GCSE History options Health and the People, Elizabethan England, Germany 1890-1945 and Conflict and Tension 1918-1939, AQA A Level History option 2N Russia 1917-1953, and Edexcel Politics Papers 1 and 3. I have previously taught AQA GCSE Conflict and Tension 1945-1972 and AQA A Level History option 2S Modern Britain 1951-2007. I am also able to tutor other taught options.
