My primary specializaton is helping children gain entrance to their preferred secondary school by tutoring and supporting them to pass the entrance exams. I also tutor mathematics and English for ages 7-13, which is in high demand at the moment due to gaps in knowledge caused by the Covid pandemic.
I spent 6 years working in all age groups in primary school as well as 5 years working with adults teaching English as a second language. I have had much success teaching mathematics, English, eleven plus and secondary school entrance exams to children aged 7-13. I have a high pass rate aiding children to pass their 11 plus exam.
I am skilled at building pupils’ confidence in themselves and their ability to up-level their knowledge and gain success. I am experienced teaching both CEM and GL style 11 Plus English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
I use a pupil-centred approach and cater lessons to meet the needs of the individual, producing rapid results. I have experience working with special needs children and have a particular understanding of the needs of autistic children.
I am a caring, friendly and approachable tutor, giving quality feedback regarding the educational level of the pupil and what the next steps are to achieving their targets. I thoroughly enjoy working with pupils and seeing them grow and flourish brings me much satisfaction.

Having initally taught disadvantaged adults in the past (first job in fact), I have more recently tutored friends, family and colleague's children. I have discovered I have an ability to make math fun and get the concepts across in novel ways so that students who believe they are completely bamboozled and will never be good at math's, find they can understand, grasp and master math's.

I have experience of working with students with SEN; dyslexia, ADHD and ASD. I will help you to learn through application of law to real case studies, as opposed to "throwing a load of information" at you. This is not engaging for you as there is no element of thought for you to be a sponge. i will encourage you to think for yourself and anticipate what the next steps are. I have found online sessions to be the best form of teaching as they are that little bit more interactive, I like to follow students own course outlines, working towards any upcoming assessments or seminars which need to be prepared for. I have a patient, nurturing but firm approach. I am fun, approachable and down to earth. I will always be honest and believe that everyone should further their knowledge and would love to be apart of helping someone do that! I have been tutoring students across all disciplines of law, and differing levels; A Level, CILEX, LLB, LLM, LPC and GDL. I am able to offer other subjects which are listed on my profile as I have experience within these, I am however focusing on Law Tutoring but feel free to contact me to discuss your needs and my availability.
All core subjects of the LLB together with options. Please ask me about your specific electives and if I am able to assist. Practice: Family Law, Property Law, Private Client and Civil Litigation ------ I also provide a proofreading service for essays, coursework, dissertations etc .I can also provide guidance as to how to structure the essay ahead of writing it so there is a starting point which will help you obtain the best possible grade and not involve a re-write after proofreading. There are different levels of packages available which are dependant on; word count and turnaround time. All prices include a video call to go through any feedback afterwards. All documents will be returned using a track changes document. Discounts for students already receiving tutoring or for multiple essays, or for a return on the same essay following feedback will apply. Please contact me for a quote. 1. Structure planning - basic structure and content ideas provided with point of interest to note. 2. Basic Formatting - spacing, margins, alignment, font, italicisation, consistent formatting throughout the document. 2. Proofreading - includes the basic formatting package as well as; improving the formality of the language, spelling, punctuation, grammar, of essays, consistent terminology, layout of the document, correcting any syntax errors. 3. I have over 15 years of tutoring experience. I am qualified and experienced in all aspects of SEND.
My subject is English Language, and I am able to teach pre entry to level 2.
My learning journey began with teaching ESOL and I have a level 3 in this field. I then progressed to do a part time PGCE and during this two year period, I did a placment within an SEND college. Following this, I continued to work in the same college for 7 years, before having children.
I have since worked with various agencies and worked as a freelance tutor. I have worked with a variety of leaners with differing needs. I have delivered sessions to profoundly and multiple disabled learners, learners with ADHD, Autism, SEMH diffculties and dyslexia.
I like to use a Mindfulness approach to learning when needed. This is particularly useful for learners who struggle with anxiety.
This approach is embedded into learning experiences and this helps with setting leaning goals, both short and long term.
This is done in a variety of ways. It may be used sublimely, for eg: relaxing music is used in the background. Or, specific strategies can be introduced to the learner. Mindfulness helps with a whole range of learning difficulties, and with great success.

During my current course I have led teaching groups of young children in regards to maintaining good oral health care alongside volunteering as a reading assistant during my Secondary school days. I myself have benefited from tutoring during GCSE's and A-levels and believe I understand what techniques help on exam day. My method entails working through real exam questions with my students until they are confident and are no longer afraid to tackle the most testing questions. At this point I go onto challenge my students with questions that may present as curve balls to boost their confidence and intrigue them to approach challenges positively. I would be looking to tutor in Chemistry and Biology at GCSE and below as my previous and current degree are based around the two core subjects.
I charge competitive prices and I understand what is required for a student to be succesful and show growth versus one that is stagnating and is becoming frustrated with not seeing results. www.*** first lessons are on me, just so that the chemistry (pun intended) between my teaching methods and the students requirements are met perfectly.
Unfortunately, I am not doing home visits as I want to social distance and protect prospective students, however I am doing zoom classes which will hopefully move to visits in September
Message for any further questions.
Best wishes
