I am currently employed by the National Tutoring Programme as an Academic Mentor(English) in a school in Birmingham. I want to support them in English, be a positive role model for them and having a good relationship with them so that they enjoy learning and don't find it boring. I always try to make a session interesting for the students so that they can grasp the knowledge for life not just for a exam or a assessment. I believe education doest always have too be related to books, it can be also channelised through mediums of sport, music and other co curricular activities which makes the session more engaging for the students. I currently support students with SEND.

As a poet and creative writer, I use my skills to support my students' engagement in literacy, improve their reading and writing and find their enjoyment and self-expression in English. I also hold a first class degree in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience and am very happy to work with Psychology students to develop essay writing, psychological theory and statistics/research skills.
I can offer sessions based on phonetics, spelling, reading and writing, focusing on the student's particular needs and using their interests to engage them.
Alternatively for older children, children who have a particular interest in writing and for adults, I can offer bespoke sessions on creative writing and poetry. These sessions will improve the student's confidence, encourage self-expression and develop them into a creative and skilled writer.
I have worked with children and young people for 7 years in paid and volunteering roles, leading and facilitating workshops to develop English and creative skills. I have a lot of experience in a range of learning disabilities, both with children and adults. Sessions can be adapted for students with visual impairments, hard of hearing students, non-verbal students, and students with emotional disturbance or challenging behaviour. I will get to know them, their strengths and their needs, and offer sessions which work in accordance. I'm also experienced in Makaton and semi-experienced in BSL.
I hold an Enhanced DBS check and positive handling training for working with children with challenging behaviour.

The engagement with employers, funding organisations created an understanding of the processes required to fulfilling the requirements.
My current position through choice is of a freelance supply teacher whereby I can teach a wide spectrum of subjects, which aids me to understand the requirements and special needs of each subject or department. Each and every school I have taught at has expressed an interest in retaining me for the position on a permanent basis because the schools have increased student success rate by 5% in 2014 and 2015. I have planned implemented various academic incentive programs for student enrichment. Whether it’s finding the solutions to maximise student participation enjoyment and amplifying student grades or internal corporate involvement, I pride myself on my ability to recognize and articulate a distinct voice for every project. And that’s not always restricted to the written word.
