Childcare and Early years, is an area of education that I am very enthusiastic about and I would like the opportunity to make learning for others as enjoyable and fulfilling as my own has been. As a teacher, it is my role to provide opportunities for all, regardless of ability, and to ensure that everyone has a positive experience. Throughout my time in education I have always had a passion for teaching this lead me to complete a BA Hons in Education Studies. Where in my first year I studied topics such as Historical and Contemporary issues and teaching and learning in the primary sector. In addition, the second year of my degree I went on to study Philosophy of Education this gave me great insight into the contributions of key philosophers to our understanding of education, ranging from classical thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle to contemporary ones including Paulo Freire and Richard Rorty. This was one of my favourite topics as I found all the different theories very interesting. Furthermore, I have also undertaken placement while successfully completing my PGCE at Bolton College, it was here which provided me with an invaluable insight into different teaching styles and assessment strategies. One of the modules I undertook while studying for my PGCE was promoting positive behaviour. I feel very passionate about this topic and find all the different theories behind it very interesting. I also used some of them in my teachings for example Lev Vygotsky believe we should support students learning by assessing their prior knowledge and then giving them tools to increase this knowledge. This is done by letting the student figure out how to use the tools, to encourage them to move on to the next level of learning. ‘What a child can do today with assistance, tomorrow she will be able to do by herself’ this quote was coined by Vygotsky himself and backs up his beliefs. It is my intention to combine my array of experiences with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic and approachable tutor who will make a positive influence. I believe my academic achievements and experience to date will provide a solid foundation to build on and transfer my knowledge and skills into providing the finest learning environment. My own academic experiences have reinforced my belief in the great importance of education and also helped me develop a number of key skills and abilities which have enabled me to develop as a scholar and an individual. I am hardworking, determined, dedicated and feel that I can offer a substantial contribution to the competences required for the position.

I have been tutoring for 8 years both 1 to 1 and in After-School clubs to children ranging from reception to year 7. I have experience working with SEN children and work as a TA in primary schools. I also have over a years experience in tutoring beginners French to adults via zoom.
My tutoring approach depends on the student, I am a firm believer that one box does not fit all. Everyone is an individual and learns in different ways and I adapt every lesson to each student and how they learn, through structured lessons, games or a mix of the two. I always aim to make my lessons fun whilst still being educational and pushing my student to reach their full potential. Each student learns at a different pace and if you have a set time frame for your goal I will recommend a suitable amount of lessons I think will be needed or if you are learning in a more relaxed time frame we can adapt as we go.
I give options as to if I will set homework, not everyone has time for it and I appreciate that and some need it as additional structure to their lessons and I am happy to provide it in that case.
Every individual has the ability to learn, with the right tutor you can go far and I hope that I can be the one to help you reach your goals. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions.

I have experience tutoring students in college and over 500+ online taught hours. I have tutored students internationally, in countries such as Dubai. I am an advanced lesson planner and produce engaging, interactive, and fascinating lessons. My passion for the subjects I teach, and my empathy means I am understanding and encouraging, my lessons are a safe place for students to learn and thrive. I have attended many exam structure seminars and have travelled on the premise of geographical study to countries such as Costa Rica and the Azores. I also enjoy reading economics-related literature, which helps me to take a holistic approach to teaching economics. I have studied geography for 8 years and Economics intensively for 3 years.
The first lesson typically involves me assessing a student's ability, responsiveness to different learning techniques, and the current curriculum they follow. This will enable us to decide on a student's goals they aspire to achieve with tutoring. We can then decide how to structure our sessions to best progress a student's ability.
From then on weekly lessons will integrate the learnings of previous weeks to improve the retrieval of content taught. I like to empower students so they feel confident enough to teach me the topics we will cover! My kind nature makes the mistakes of learning feel comfortable too, I’m here to support you on the journey, which is ultimately yours to make.

I have over 15 years of tutoring experience. I am qualified and experienced in all aspects of SEND.
My subject is English Language, and I am able to teach pre entry to level 2.
My learning journey began with teaching ESOL and I have a level 3 in this field. I then progressed to do a part time PGCE and during this two year period, I did a placment within an SEND college. Following this, I continued to work in the same college for 7 years, before having children.
I have since worked with various agencies and worked as a freelance tutor. I have worked with a variety of leaners with differing needs. I have delivered sessions to profoundly and multiple disabled learners, learners with ADHD, Autism, SEMH diffculties and dyslexia.
I like to use a Mindfulness approach to learning when needed. This is particularly useful for learners who struggle with anxiety.
This approach is embedded into learning experiences and this helps with setting leaning goals, both short and long term.
This is done in a variety of ways. It may be used sublimely, for eg: relaxing music is used in the background. Or, specific strategies can be introduced to the learner. Mindfulness helps with a whole range of learning difficulties, and with great success.

I gained qualified teacher status in August 2021 after spending a year in Carlisle completing my Postgraduate Certificate in Education. Since September 2021, I have been working as a supply teacher in Manchester. This has allowed me to gain experience working in all year groups in Primary Education ranging from Early Years to Year 6. I am currently working as a 1 to 1 teaching assistant to children with Special Educational Needs which has allowed me to develop my knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.

My experience has made me an expert in helping tackle exam nerves, as well as preparing you for whatever the next education step may be (from reception all the way up to A-levels). As someone who didn't take their own A levels that long ago, I have lived experience which makes me an invaluable tutor and teacher. Having now achieved QTS, I have obtained crucial and groundbreaking techniques which will help elevate your child to their aspirational goals.
Throughout my tutoring career I have received constant 5 star reviews and have helped many children and young people. I cannot wait to begin our next educational adventure.
