With an enthusiastic and creative character, I specialise in inspiring musical interest from the very beginning. I strive for maximum performance from pupils and have a strong track record in all aspects of musical education. My holistic approach to the subject achieves the highest results under the Royal Schools of Music Exam Board [ABRSM] whilst also keeping the subject light and fun. I have a natural flair for educating and also teach horse-riding to children in my spare time.
Some benefits of your son/daughter learning to play an instrument:
· Engaging left and right brain function
· Developing motor-neuron skills and coordination
· Enhancing communication skills through reading, writing and performing music
· Aural skills will help to develop rhythm and timing
Academy students can learn purely for pleasure and educational enhancement, but if they would like to take graded exams which carry UKCC and UCAS points, they can do this through JQ Music Academy. I have a 100% pass rate at examination in both Performance and The Theory of Music - 95% of students attain the higher grades. Online tuition is available.
There will be regular progress reports, sticker rewards each week and medals each term for the most hard-working students. Success is measured on effort, not ability to ensure fairness across the board. Students will have the the opportunity to play at bi-annual concerts at a local venue with my other academy students. You will be able to communicate with me directly regarding you/your child’s progress and we can discuss opportunities for performances and examinations.

I have a long history of teaching. I started private tutoring GCSE level subjects (maths, physics, chemistry, biology) when I was 19 and continued to do so for A-level subjects (maths, physics, chemistry, English) throughout my engineering undergraduate study. After graduation when I joined a government organisation in Bangladesh as an engineer, I was in charge of the training programmes (automotive and machine tools) for the engineering apprentices. I moved to the UK in 2004 and relied on private tutoring of GCSE and A-level students (maths, physics, chemistry) to earn my living during my MSc study. Throughout my professional career in the industry as an engineer, I was engaged with designing and delivering training programmes for apprentices and engineers, covering a wide range of engineering subjects: engineering software (CAD, CAM, CAE), engineering maths, quality control, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and ERP (enterprise resource planning) software. During this period and further, I also did private tutoring of A level (maths, physics and chemistry) and undergraduate students (engineering maths, engineering mechanics, fundamental of mechanical engineering) as an extra source of income. During my PhD study (2016-2020), I worked as a teaching assistant and a demonstrator to teach engineering design and CAD to the undergraduate students of the University of Nottingham. I also led some workshops (manufacturing metrology, error analysis of a mechanical structure, etc). At Heriot-Watt University (2021-22), I worked as a Research Associate in Robotics. Besides my research work, I worked as a tutor and a guest lecturer for the following engineering undergraduate modules: Introduction to Robotics, Digital Design & Programming. I am now a lecturer in engineering at CU Coventry (Coventry University Group), and I teach a variety of electro-mechanical BEng modules (e.g. engineering maths, smart manufacturing, project management, engineering design, mechanical engineering systems and renewable energy). I also supervise and coordinate final-year research projects.
Based on the three sources of feedback I received about my teaching (student feedback, which is formally collected at the end of each module in each academic semester; colleagues' feedback and management-led teaching observation), I consider myself an excellent, student-centred tutor. I work hard to foster student learning - not only through teaching but also by supporting and mentoring them.

I am a 65 years old tutor of predominantly History and Politics, with English and Religious Studies as my supplementary subjects.
Willing to teach on-line by Skype (preferred) or Zoom, as well as person-to-person.
As you will note from my qualifications and professional experience, I have taught all four subjects for some 35 years, at College, University, Sixth Form College and High School. While the majority of my teaching has been in the UK, mainly in Birmingham, London and Bristol, nevertheless I have also taught abroad at university in the Philippines. Additionally, I have been an A'Level Politics and History examiner for the former London and Oxford & Cambridge boards in the 1990s and early post-millennium decade. So also, have I written course brochures for the History and Politics Distance - learning programmes for the National Extension College, Cambridge. All of this has added up to my having acquired a broad professional experience, which I put to the benefit of my students.
My teaching style is very much subject and communication based, with the emphasis applying knowledge and essay skills towards achieving the best exam results. There is also a priority attached to reading and grammar skills, both of which appear to be neglected by the contemporary British educational establishment. Hopefully I can use my experience and robust teaching methods towards enabling students to gain their best performance in exams and careers. - Please also note that I am happy to tutor students on-line - ie. Skype (Preferred) or Zoom, and have a fair experience of this kind of teaching.

Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a 23 years old post-graduate with a passion for science. I have just completed a bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham specifically focusing on Cancer research which has allowed me to combine my interests of Biology and Chemistry, both of which I loved in school. My aim is to extend my knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects to other students so they can achieve their full potential. My peers would describe me as having a kind and approachable nature which I believe is essential for providing a comfortable learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question!
Having experienced tons of exams myself I understand first hand how stressful the current education system can be however I promise to be positive, enthusiastic and build students confidence.

I have a great deal of experience as a tutor. I have been working at one of the UK's leading Grammar Schools for the past four years. I tutor maths GCSE and A level online. I have also conducted numerous online webinars/ webclasses and drop-in sessions for students across the country for A Level maths. I love to make maths engaging. My instagram and YouTube accounts (Mark-a-minute maths) has had a wide following from students and I consistently post short 1 minute videos for students to get snappy, bitesize reviews of topics and model answers to exam questions.

I have taught instrumental music to a wide range of ages including adults. I teach most instruments, including theory of music, and believe that music should be enjoyed in which case I teach towards ABRSM and British College of Accordionists examinations in addition to supplementing this with playing for pleasure and enjoyment music. My experience is that individuals should be taught according to their individual learning style and therefore I adapt my teaching style to match the age, stage, interest and needs of the students which means that if the student wants to learn for pure enjoyment then examinations may not be considered.
My students have enjoyed many successes at national level and some have gone on to study music at University.

I have worked in education for over 8 years. I started out as a nursery nurse in a small nursery and then went to become a teaching assistant in a primary school. I started in the year 5 class and only recently moved to the year 1 class, where i have much experience in phonics, maths and english in the key stage. I have been working at my school for 7 years now, I love the children and the staff. I was given the job as a Higher level teaching assistant job a couple of years ago and now manage the out of school club within the school. I am now doing my teaching training and degree, and hoping to be qualified in two years in. I have done tutoring around families homes for their children ,during their SATS or even GCSE'S but my forte is EYFS and KS1.

Hi!
I'm Oli, a recent first-class graduate from the Liverpool Screen School - I'd love to be able to share my passion for the medium of cinema with all of those who are currently discovering it themselves! I have over a decade of experience in the subject, whether it be the academic aspects of Film Studies, or the creative, subjective aspect of practical filmmaking.
In terms of my academic experience, I've had academic essays about Film published through international publications, as well as having my personal essays supported passionately by my academic peers at university. I've worked alongside some of the best UK-based cinematic scholars to achieve my knowledge and approach to Film Studies, and I'd be thrilled to aid anyone who needs extra support regarding their studies - even if it's simply putting tough theoretical concepts into layman's terms.
Regarding my practical experience - it's vast! I've been an independent filmmaker for over half a decade, and my films have been recognised at festivals worldwide. I've also founded a North-Western film production company, Keystone Productions, which works with independent filmmakers and producers to ensure their visions are met.
My passion for film, and my understanding of how it works in both a theoretical and practical sense, is unparalleled. I've used it to meet some incredible directors and scholars, and it has taken me worldwide on a journey to some of the most incredible parts of cinematic history, including the likes of Aesthetica Film Festival, and Cannes Film Festival. I can't wait to meet prospective fans of cinema, and I'd be honoured to share my knowledge in an attempt to support the development of yours.
