Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I have been teaching Science in the UK for the last 25 years and have tutored as well for the last year. I have been an examiner for Edexcel for the last 5 years. I have been a Head of Science. I am UK trained and qualified and have been DBS checked. I have a lot experience working with SEND students and always look to support young people to do their best. I have taught all three Sciences and Maths to GCSE and Biology to A-level for 25 years. I am passionate about my subjects and really enjoy teaching and helping my students. I have a thorough knowledge of both Edexcel and AQA for GCSE and have effectively taught for both exam boards. I have taught both OCR and Edexcel for A-level Biology. I have been an Examiner for Edexcel for GCSE Physics for the past 5 years.
I work using a variety of resources to engage students in their learning. I always strive to find what works best for your learning style.
I have been tutoring online for the last few years and really enjoy engaging with students using all the technologies that are now available.
Some references from parents:
"My son is currently taking his GCSEs, and I have worked with him on the content of this reference; we both want to start by saying that we cannot recommend Sharon more highly as a science tutor.
As a parent, Sharon is extremely easy to work with – our communications, whether in writing or talking, are very clear and professional but importantly also very reassuring, as you instantly feel you’re in safe and experienced hands.
Sharon was able to quickly assess my son’s gaps in learning and form a plan to cover all three science subjects. Since he has been working with Sharon, I have seen my son’s confidence grow significantly. He looks forward to the lessons (even opting to have additional ones) as he values Sharon’s extensive subject knowledge and ability to be able to explain complicated topics and concepts clearly and patiently, but also repeatedly until he feels he has a full grasp. What I value is that throughout the lessons she ensures he communicates with her, answering questions, explaining his reasoning etc. in order to constantly check his understanding rather than 'taking his word for it' before moving on.
Without Sharon’s teaching and also her practical exam guidance he would not be entering his science GCSEs with his current level of confidence. We were incredibly lucky to find Sharon as it is rare to find a tutor with Sharon’s subject knowledge and level of teaching experience."
"*** grades were: Chem=6, Bio=5, Phys=5. He would not have achieved this without your tutoring."

My main goal is allowing students to first of all understand Maths and Science. And second of all enjoy it, begin seeing that everything around them is essentially maths and science. From their phones, to their bodies and the earth surrounding them.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

Hi, i'm Mariyam. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I studied to teach children of a primary school age for 3 years at a great university. I have been a qualified teacher since I was 21 and have 8 years in total of teaching experience, including my training years.
Feel free to enquire about other primary school subjects, including History, Geography and RE.
The best part of educating is knowing you're making a difference to a child's learning and helping to set them up for a successful future.

Hi! Welcome to my page!
Who am I? My name is Devinder and I'm an online tutor. I love teaching and I hope you will be interested in the academic services I have to offer. My 5-star reviews can be read here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069584765662&sk=reviews HOW WOULD I BENEFIT AS A STUDENT? If you are a parent or carer, then your children can benefit from private lessons in English (up to KS2), Maths (up to GCSE), Science (GCSE), Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This way of learning would not only boost their confidence but also increase their results in 11+ entrance, SATs and GCSEs placing them ahead of their peers. Past pupils sitting their entrance exams have gone on to apply to their chosen schools and university with proven results. Students would have access to vast resources including a catalogue of at least 200 books full of techniques and past papers to help support and boost their education. Learners are offered a personalised tuition plan catered to their individual needs, goals and learning styles. Learners can expect to have their knowledge gaps identified and appropriate resources selected to help them close those specific gaps, in a caring yet challenging manner. Tuition is not a side hustle for me, it's my main vocation. Not only does that mean more attention for your child but also availability during daytime through school holidays or if you are based overseas. WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM YOUR LESSONS With +10,000 hours teaching experience, you can expect a lot. Firstly, there is a free consultation so you can assess whether we make a good fit. All lessons are prepared in advance to make the best use of tuition time. Curriculum-aligned material is taught, learners’ understanding is checked systematically, misconceptions identified accurately and clear and direct feedback is provided. In doing so, knowledge gaps are identified and content repeated to plug gaps where appropriate and embed learning. Common errors are shared to help student prevent making them in their practice and in their exams. I use a collaborative, interactive, online whiteboard which is free and simple for my students to use: no holding aloft shaky notepads aimed at the webcam. This allows me to watch and check students' understanding in real time. Unlike other tutors, I do not use Zoom/Google Meet or Teams. I subscribe to a special educator platform which has been rated 5-star by its users. Using the `I Do, You Do, We Do` model, students are told what they need to know and how to do it, then we work on a task together to help student become more confident with new learning and finally student individually uses what they have been shown to demonstrate proficiency using practice questions or repeating back to me what they have learned. EXAM PREPARATION STRATEGY Construct a solid foundation of knowledge Exam technique tips Practice (practice practice!) past papers in the weeks/months preceding exam SKILLS OFFERED Excellent, deep subject area knowledge of curricula Strong ability to explain concepts in clear and simple terms Engagement with students of assorted abilities and backgrounds QUALIFICATIONS I hold a Bsc (Hons) Biochemistry from a Russell Group University and a PgDip Analytical Chemistry. I spent the first two years of my university programme studying maths. I'm DBS checked and my qualifications and certificates are available for inspection.

Having recently completed my PGCE in Primary Education and gaining my QTS; my knowledge of the curriculum, teaching strategies, and methods and my experience puts me in great stead to be an excellent, motivating, thorough and positive tutor for children at the primary level. Further, I have an excellent understanding of the 7+ exams and can focus my teaching towards any areas of learning towards this. I have many strategies for making learning accessible for children, being dyslexic myself, I understand the different difficulties and struggles children can have in school and ways to overcome barriers to learning. I have a passion for education and enjoy making learning fun and engaging. My specialism is computing and I, therefore, love to use computing as a cross-curricular tool in learning. Additionally, Astronomy is a strong passion of mine and something I am keen to spark and promote in children where it can lead to many interesting thoughts and questions and relates to so many schemes of learning. I believe in learning from one's environment and exploring the world around us and therefore ensure that when I teach the curriculum, I make the learning experience as enjoyable, relevant, and accessible as possible.
My first experience in teaching was working in conductive education, with children with cerebral palsy. Further, I worked as a teaching assistant at a large school, working with years 1, 2 and 5. In the mornings I worked with whole classes and in the afternoon I ran group or 1-1 sessions with children that needed extra support, such as children with special educational needs. Additionally, I ran an Astronomy club for year 2 and year 5. I planned, taught, and assessed each child in my class and shared my passion and enthusiasm for the subject with them. I have since completed a PGCE in primary education at the Institute of Education at University College London (UCL). During my placement, I worked primarily with a year 5 class, planning, teaching, and assessing up to 80% of the timetable. On this placement, I taught consecutive lessons in year 1 and 2 also, mostly focusing on Phonics and Maths. My specialism is Computing and I ran a Computing project with my year 5 class on this placement, collecting and subsequently presenting my findings to my colleagues at UCL. This project investigated the ways in which Computing can be used to promote cross-curricular learning and was thoroughly enjoyable, successful, and interesting. I was also lucky enough to gain valuable experience on placement at Brooklyn New School in New York, where I taught year 2. My main focus at this school was Literacy and Numeracy, as well as Philosophy for Children (which is now on the National Curriculum) and I have a broad and well-rounded knowledge of a variety of teaching strategies and methods. Additionally, I run a YouTube channel providing lessons in Astronomy for children and adult beginners. I plan and prepare the lessons most relevant and accessible to children, where it can link to the national curriculum.
I would love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for Astronomy with adults, as well as children.

As mentioned, I'm currently a student who is about to enter Sixth Form at the beginning of the next academic term. As a teacher, l portray myself to be very calm, considerate and patient. I have developed such a diverse skillset from being both a proud older sibling and an incredible teacher to many of my friends and relatives of whom would reinforce my words. Likewise, I'm a very friendly, caring and understanding young lady who enjoys developing new connections and supporting others to the best of my abilities! This is reflected in my style of teaching as I enjoy elaborating further on points students may not quite grasp at first glance as well as providing a fun and inclusive environment where students on feel they are able to work to their full potential without fear of judgement for whatever reason! Although I'm just entering Sixth Form, l believe that my teaching capabilities are just as elaborate and enlightening as someone of a higher qualification. As an aspiring teacher, l acquire excellent communication skills which allow students to feel comfortable in the created learning environment moreover they're more likely to thrive with a humerous and thoughtful teacher. Therefore, l hope that you entrust me to provide quality education to your child while also developing their social skills and general confidence. Thank you for reading!

My teaching experience is particularly notable in the field of Science, where I have effectively managed class sizes of 20 to 35 students across both online and offline platforms. This has been complemented by my dynamic involvement in entrepreneurship, which has enhanced my ability to create engaging and productive learning environments. My academic achievements are underscored by my proficiency in Science and English, as demonstrated by my strong performance in high school and senior secondary school examinations along with couple of National level examinations.
I bring to the table several key achievements:
A proven track record of boosting student performance through customized educational strategies in COVID lockdown period. A creative teaching approach that breaks down complex concepts, fostering a sense of curiosity and a love for learning. A collaborative spirit that has enabled me to forge enduring relationships with students, parents, and fellow educators, thereby building a cohesive educational community.
This combination of academic prowess and practical teaching experience positions me well to contribute significantly to any educational setting, driving both student success and collaborative learning.

I was a scientist, leading my own research group before becoming a teacher. I am passionate about the subject and can bring extra knowledge on how science is woven into our daily lives and explanations about natural phenomena. I really enjoy teaching science, but also understand that it is a lot of information and so I focus on breaking it down into smaller pieces of information and ensure that you understand each part, leading to a good understanding in the subject overall.
