I have been tutoring families as well, inspiring them to learn and play four hands repertoire, as well as preparing for ABRSM exams. I'm tutoring pupils for their own pleasure or ABRSM grades, in relaxed, positive, encouraging and motivational atmosphere towards achieving better levels of performance. From classical to contemporary and popular music, the choice is yours. All that matters is having joy of playing music, whether beginner, intermediate or advanced. 12 years of experience, piano or keyboard is perfectly fine with me, what matters the most is enthusiasm and genuine desire to improve. I strive for maximum performance from pupils and have a strong track record in all aspects of musical education. My holistic approach to the subject achieves the highest results under the Royal Schools of Music Exam Board [ABRSM] whilst also keeping the subject light and fun. I have a natural flair for educating and also teach horse-riding to children in my spare time.

Academy students can learn purely for pleasure and educational enhancement, but if they would like to take graded exams which carry UKCC and UCAS points, they can do this through JQ Music Academy. I have a 100% pass rate at examination in both Performance and The Theory of Music - 95% of students attain the higher grades. Online tuition is available.
There will be regular progress reports, sticker rewards each week and medals each term for the most hard-working students. Success is measured on effort, not ability to ensure fairness across the board. Students will have the the opportunity to play at bi-annual concerts at a local venue with my other academy students. You will be able to communicate with me directly regarding you/your child’s progress and we can discuss opportunities for performances and examinations.

I'm a photographer and filmmaker, with a background in Media and Communication. I have taught film/television and photography at the university for over a decade and have played music professionally in music bands for about 25 years. I'm passionate and skilled at teaching different age grades and skill levels. My goal is to teach my students how to play music creatively and identify their style of play, be innovative and enjoy what they do. I enjoy what I do and I do it with ease. Hello, I'm Vincent N., a passionate mathematician and educator with a diverse background in Actuarial Science and Music. I hold a Master's degree (MSc) in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor's degree (BSc Hons) in Mathematics with Actuarial Science from the University of Southampton. During my time at Southampton, I initially pursued a Master's in Music (MMus), but unfortunately, due to an injury, I had to transfer to a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Music.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I furthered my academic journey at Cardiff University, where I earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Mathematics. My research focused on "The Risk Models with Non-Local Poisson Processes," and I was fortunate to have Prof. Nikolai Leonenko as my supervisor. This research culminated in a published paper titled "Risk process with mixture of tempered stable inverse subordinators: Analysis and synthesis" in the journal Random Operators and Stochastic Equations.
Beyond academia, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for mathematics as a tutor in the Maths support service at Cardiff University. In this role, I assisted students across the university with various mathematical challenges, helping them grasp complex concepts and excel in their studies.
Music has also been an integral part of my life, and I have honed my skills as a pianist and organist over the years. As a freelance Piano/Organ Teacher, I created customized teaching materials to cater to the unique needs of each student, fostering entertaining and engaging learning environments. Additionally, I served as an Organist at St. Nicolas' Church, North Stoneham, preparing and accompanying the choir for Sunday Eucharists and other services.

Maths, English and Science were some of my favourite subjects in school, and since it hasn’t been very long since I’ve left my secondary education, I am well versed in those three subjects, science to a further level due to my degree.
I hope I can be of help to all students, as I have a very specific methodology of teaching, personalised for each student, and will be happy to have the student’s input too.
I have experience in teaching those younger than me in my school days, where I headed an afterschool session once a week for those who needed help with anything they were taught throughout the year. I also made sure they were prepared for exam season, making sure that they focused on exam papers, and learning and revising through making mistakes with those questions, rather than making notes.
I have helped students with improving their musical talents as well, as I have played the piano and learnt singing to a high level (Grade 8 Piano and Grade 7 singing), and this helped me learn better communication with students as well as their parents.
