Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

My main goal is allowing students to first of all understand Maths and Science. And second of all enjoy it, begin seeing that everything around them is essentially maths and science. From their phones, to their bodies and the earth surrounding them.

Experienced, fully qualified teacher offering tutoring in the core knowledge and skills for reading, writing, maths and science. As a full time teacher with twelve years experience and as a mentor to student teachers on the Goldsmiths PGCE programme, I am an expert in assessing/planning and delivering effective and engaging programmes that identify gaps and stretch and challenge all types of learners. With up to date knowledge of how the curriculum is sequenced from Reception through to GCSE, I can offer robust assessment of where pupils require support and discrete teaching and where they would benefit from deepening and extension work. I know when and how to stretch and challenge learners so that they remain engaged, building a sense of independence in their ability to absorb new skills and concepts. In addition, I offer preparation and skills practise for the 11+ entrance exams for Kent, Bexley and local South East London private schools. Aside from providing coaching for selective schools, I am passionate about ensuring all learners have the necessary skills, knowledge and habits for learning in order to bridge the gap between primary and secondary education so that they are ready to progress to KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) in the core curriculum subjects of English, Maths and Science.

I am a fully qualified Science teacher with more than 25 years’ experience of teaching all areas of Science (Chemistry, Physics and Biology) at Key Stage 3 and 4. My vast teaching experience has given me an immense understanding of the Science curriculum
I also have a huge experience of online tutoring, which has now become the most common practice. I have a great passion for teaching and helping young people to unlock every potential in them, which I find quite rewarding.
I am a passionate, enthusiastic, and a patient teacher who has worked with many students by reaching out and creating a good rapport with them, deeply aware that students have different abilities, therefore, differentiation is always at the forefront when I plan my lessons.
My goal is always to create fascinating lessons and resources that capture the interest of my students.

I grew up and completed all my schooling in north London, in the beautiful suburb of East Finchley – home of one of the oldest cinemas in England and the UK Head Office of McDonalds! Graduating in Psychology from Bristol University in 2000 led me to further my interest in cognitive and developmental psychology by completing an MSc in Child Development at the Institute of Education (University College – London). I have experience working with children with special needs (autistic spectrum disorders, dyslexia) as well as being a member of several developmental research teams both at the Institute of Psychiatry (Kings College, London) and the Institute of Child Health (University College, London
After spending some time working for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the Department of Education in London I took some time out and spent 6 months in Kenya where I partook in some voluntary work, working on several education and health-based projects in partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation as well as travelling extensively through eastern and southern Africa on a truck safari for 2 months.
On my return to London I went back to the Department of Education where I really learnt first-hand what it is like behind the scenes of education, getting involved in policy/decision making and question selection of examinations. This is where my interest in teaching really grew. My passion was always to work with young people and teaching is definitely a career like no other, so in 2003 I finally took the step and completed the Primary PGCE at Cambridge University. I have been teaching the British Curriculum since 2005 in inner city London schools (Grades 1 to 5). From the word go I immersed myself fully into school life- both within the classroom and amongst the wider school community. I have held key management responsibilities across all schools that I have worked in such as Head of Key Stage 2 (7-11 years), Year 5 (Grade 4) Leader and Gifted and Talented coordinator, to name a few. I worked with gifted writers in Grade 1 to develop their descriptive writing skills and set up a young journalist group with high performing writers in Grades 4 and 5, publishing a school newspaper every term.
I decided to make the move to the Middle East in 2014, moving to Doha initially, where I was Head of Year 5 (Grade 4) at a large 6-form entry school with predominantly Qatari children. This role involved introducing and implementing a more creative topic-based curriculum and teaching a class of 28 Qatari boys. I moved to Dubai in 2015 and have been teaching here ever since, most recently at the Swiss school where I teach Grade 4 and developed leadership skills through the Primary School Council.
As part of my travel and through voluntary work, I have visited a number of schools in both Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi (working on a project promoting health and hygiene, as well as advising on special educational needs)– where in some classes there are over 100 children all eager to learn with barely any resources or technology! One of my passions is travelling and finding out about different cultures and traditions – having travelled extensively in Europe, North America, Africa, South-East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Charity is another one of my passions, having set up a charity in my last London school to provide clean water (boreholes) and proper toilet facilities to schools in Mombasa – Kenya. I have most recently been involved in initiatives set up by Dubai Cares and the WE Organisation. I enjoy encouraging children to show an interest in the world, to be curious about different countries and cultures and to be internationally-minded, bringing in all our experiences and backgrounds into the classroom setting. My other interests lie in art, particularly contemporary, abstract and impressionist art – you will often find me around Alserkal Avenue or at Cinema Akil or visiting various art exhibitions in Sharjah. I enjoy keeping fit, playing squash and the more extreme sports such as sky diving and bungee jumping. Most recently I have taken up stand up paddling and a bit of yoga!
My philosophy in life has been to never judge a book by its cover – in teaching to not make preconceived judgements about a child without getting to know them inside out. I allow every child an equal chance, the opportunity to be inquisitive and to be able to ask lots of questions.

I am fairly traditional in my approach. My previous pupils - I am recently retired - would describe me as thorough, encouraging and able to develop a strong self belief to succeed in a tricky subject.
Teaching Chemistry for 41 years has given me significant insight into the common conceptual pitfalls that hinder learning. So, first and foremost, I aim to develop a sound conceptual understanding and thereby foster tutees' confidence. Grasping Chemistry is like tackling a jig-saw puzzle: The pattern emerges when the links between the individual parts are apparent; I pride myself in enabling tutees to make these connections. Once the subject foundations are secure we move on to questions, examination technique and past papers.

I hold an Honours degree in Chemical and Processing Engineering, which has provided me with a strong foundation in the field of science and mathematics. Additionally, I possess a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a specialization in Mathematics and Science. This combination of academic qualifications equips me with a solid understanding of the subjects I intend to teach.
With over five years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of instructing students at various educational levels. My expertise lies in teaching Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Science to students in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. During my teaching career, I have developed a passion for fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and encourages students to explore the world of science and mathematics.
My teaching philosophy centres around creating a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel motivated to excel and ask questions. I am dedicated to helping students not only understand complex concepts but also develop a genuine interest in the subjects I teach

I enjoy working creatively with children and I am aware of the different mind friendly learning techniques that can be used to facilitate effective learning. I incorporate these techniques into my lessons. I believe that children need a firm foundation in basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to be able to flourish in other areas of the curriculum. I understand that continuity and progression in learning is vital and my planning and teaching reflect this.

With an extensive background in tutoring multiple subjects, I have developed a unique ability to adapt lessons to suit the educational needs of diverse learners.
Education is not one-size-fits-all, and my tutoring approach reflects this philosophy. I am proficient in creating and delivering educational content that engages students from elementary to college level. Whether it's helping a high school student grasp complex calculus concepts, guiding a middle schooler through the intricacies of English grammar, or introducing the basics of computer programming to a college student, my teaching methods are flexible and responsive to the needs of each student.
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that a strong understanding of foundational concepts is crucial for success in any subject. My teaching style focuses on building this foundation, and then advancing to more complex topics at a pace that is comfortable and effective for the student. I strive to make learning interactive and enjoyable, using a variety of tools and techniques to accommodate different learning styles.
