Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.

After graduating with an honours degree in Mathematics, Zahra entered the hedge fund world where she studied for CIMA and CFA qualifications. During that time she also taught on a voluntary basis, before deciding to pursue teaching full time. She is a supportive and friendly teacher, who has taught GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics for over 10 years.
As well as teaching maths, Zahra is also responsible for the delivery of the Medical Programme designed for students applying for medicine, dentistry or veterinary science and specialises in training students for the UKCAT and BMAT exams.

I am Cambridge graduate.
I have been tutoring maths, physics & chemistry GCSE/ A-Level and adult learners, for over 8 years, and have helped many students improve their exam results.
I have written over 20 books too (available on kindle or in paperback), mostly maths books.
I usually visit students in their homes, but also do lessons via Whatsapp (which works great as we can have phone and laptop open at the same time and send documents). During the Corona-virus shutdown, all lessons will be done via Whatsapp with payment via bank transfer please.

I have been teaching Science in the UK for the last 25 years and have tutored as well for the last year. I have been an examiner for Edexcel for the last 5 years. I have been a Head of Science. I am UK trained and qualified and have been DBS checked. I have a lot experience working with SEND students and always look to support young people to do their best. I have taught all three Sciences and Maths to GCSE and Biology to A-level for 25 years. I am passionate about my subjects and really enjoy teaching and helping my students. I have a thorough knowledge of both Edexcel and AQA for GCSE and have effectively taught for both exam boards. I have taught both OCR and Edexcel for A-level Biology. I have been an Examiner for Edexcel for GCSE Physics for the past 5 years.
I work using a variety of resources to engage students in their learning. I always strive to find what works best for your learning style.
I have been tutoring online for the last few years and really enjoy engaging with students using all the technologies that are now available.
Some references from parents:
"My son is currently taking his GCSEs, and I have worked with him on the content of this reference; we both want to start by saying that we cannot recommend Sharon more highly as a science tutor.
As a parent, Sharon is extremely easy to work with – our communications, whether in writing or talking, are very clear and professional but importantly also very reassuring, as you instantly feel you’re in safe and experienced hands.
Sharon was able to quickly assess my son’s gaps in learning and form a plan to cover all three science subjects. Since he has been working with Sharon, I have seen my son’s confidence grow significantly. He looks forward to the lessons (even opting to have additional ones) as he values Sharon’s extensive subject knowledge and ability to be able to explain complicated topics and concepts clearly and patiently, but also repeatedly until he feels he has a full grasp. What I value is that throughout the lessons she ensures he communicates with her, answering questions, explaining his reasoning etc. in order to constantly check his understanding rather than 'taking his word for it' before moving on.
Without Sharon’s teaching and also her practical exam guidance he would not be entering his science GCSEs with his current level of confidence. We were incredibly lucky to find Sharon as it is rare to find a tutor with Sharon’s subject knowledge and level of teaching experience."
"*** grades were: Chem=6, Bio=5, Phys=5. He would not have achieved this without your tutoring."

I developed an interest in tutoring at a very young age. After completing my GCSE's I subscribed myself to a tuition centre where I taught KS3. After completing my A levels i went on to teach GCSE's eventually diving into A levels aswell after getting into Queen Mary University. From there on I helped many students go from their low grades of C's, D's and even E's to scoring top grades of A/A*'s, allowing them to get into their chosen universities.

I have 1000s of hours in tutoring KS3, GCSE and A-level students and helping them achieve stellar grades. Over the past 5 years I have become more than a tutor to my students, I see myself as a mentor and someone they can relate with and feel comfortable t0 come to with any academic problems. I am very funny and laidback. As a younger tutor I find it useful to have an informal relationship with my students as they tend to feel more at ease and more receptive to my teaching. I prefer online tutoring, but I can travel in exceptions. I am always eager to help and very flexible so please feel free to message me and we can discuss how I can best help your child achieve their goals.

I am fresh from higher education and excited to tutor, having completed my History BA less than a year ago. I have been blessed with a rich private education myself (St Paul's School), which has given me an appreciation for the needs of the ambitious student at primary school and secondary school levels. I believe that I can guarantee your learning with very precise communication of subjects, in response to your preferred manner of visualisation, studying or revision. I also keep consummate, effective knowledge of many different subjects thanks to my A-standard performance across 11 GCSEs and 4 A-Levels during private education. I will provide you the best version of the lessons I was taught at these elite institutions.

My ability to create engaging, supportive, and individualised lessons has been instrumental in inspiring my students to become enthusiastic and fearless learners, drawing on each individual’s unique abilities to build confidence and accomplish their desired goals. In addition to my teaching experience, I am highly proficient in using various educational technologies and online platforms, as well as creating engaging in-person lessons for all age ranges.
Having struggled at school during my GCSE’s and also in my first year of A levels, I know how hard it can be for students when they feel like they have no one to turn to, or when there is no help available for them to achieve their goals. Having achieved the grades I did in my GCSE’s and A levels solely through perseverance, I believe myself to be determined, motivated and understanding of the struggles students face. If I cannot answer a question straight away, I will always find a way to figure out the answer using alternative methods/resources.
Lesson structure
My lesson structure always revolves around the students’ needs and requests. I start off the lesson by going through any key definitions the student needs to know for their exam board, and writing down any key facts that will be vital later on in the lesson. This sets the foundation for the lesson.
The main bulk of the lesson is spent going through concepts, subtopics and ideas, and I always make sure to stick to what the exam board requires. I will go through the more complex material in more detail, explaining it starting from the basics and building our way up, to ensure the student fully understands what we are going through and there are no gaps in their knowledge. If the student doesn’t understand something then we will go through it again, starting from the beginning, but I always try and explain the area of difficulty from another angle/perspective, which I have found really helps.
At the end of the lesson I always do one or two exam questions with the student to apply the information we have went through in the lesson and to practice exam technique, as I have found this is key to achieving the top marks in the desired subject. I make sure to ask the student if there was anything they didn’t understand and would like to to go through in the next lesson, and I make notes after each lesson so I have a good idea of what we need to go through/practice in more detail.
My availability
I am available most afternoons/evenings as well as weekends. I am able to be flexible with my schedule to accommodate the student`s availability, which can be discussed further during our first meeting :)

I’m Jubina, currently a medical student in 2nd year. I teach KS3 and GCSE students mainly in biology, chemistry and maths. I tailor my lessons depending on the tutee and what he or needs help with from homework to understanding concepts.
I'm enjoy tutoring a lot and helping tutees succeed. I think your son or daughter has the ability to get the top grades regardless of where they are now. They just need to find a way of learning that works for them. I will be open to try different methods of teaching they prefer and go with what works for them. I encourage students to make mistakes now before their exams and learn from them.
My usual lessons begin with a recap from the previous lesson for 10mins with some exam style questions which will be very similar to the previous lessons. This is to make sure the tutee understood and retained what we learnt in the previous lesson. I have found this to be the most efficient for my current tutees. I will also give exam style questions as homework. As someone who was a student I feel this is the most effective way for them to get practice early on so when it comes to the actual exams they should be familiar.
First consultation is free so we can discuss what the tutee would like out of our lessons and where they feel like they need to improve. Their target grades and ways we could get them headed to the right direction. I will then tailor our online lessons for the tutee. The online platform will be on Microsoft teams. I do also do group tuition of groups of 2 maximum at the moment. Do message me if you have any more questions, thank you :)
