Hi! My names Lisa and I am an English and Drama/Theatre Studies Tutor. My qualifications are up to a Masters Level with 14 years of experience in live Touring, West End and Regional Theatre and Events,
I have been tutoring English to British and Foreign students for over 8 years, working with all age ranges in ESL, exam preparation for 11+, 8+ and in depth text analysis. I tailor the lesson to suit the needs of the student using the AQA, OCR, WJEC and Scottish curriculum for GCSE, A levels, National 5's and Scottish Higher's as well as helping degree students with their essays, personal statement, college applications and dissertations. I take a friendly approach, asking students to engage in critical analysis and conversation to build essay structures, giving my students ownership and enjoyment in their learning. I also have first hand experience of working on Drama texts and Backstage elements, with extensive experience on working on major productions nationally and internationally.
I can teach English and Drama/Theatre Studies from early years to Masters level,
I have an enthusiasm and passion for teaching and a goal to build confidence in my students of any age.
I am fully DBS checked. I also do one off lessons, editing and work with students, who are only needing a few lessons for an assignment.

I'm a Cardiff University graduate and a passionate, patient teacher. I have 9 years of teaching experience and training from exam boards across England and Wales.
Are you a GCSE student? For some of you, it’s exam season and you’re probably under a lot of pressure: from school, from family, maybe even from yourself. I’m here to help guide you through the material in a way that works for you. Whether you’re overwhelmed and we need to break it down into more manageable chunks, or you’re looking to challenge yourself for those extra marks with some intense revision and original ideas, I always tailor my sessions to work for my students’ unique needs. Perhaps you're a parent or guardian looking to support or challenge your child? Over the years, my students’ ages have ranged from as young as 5 in group settings, up to 19 for 1-1 sessions. Engagement is important and I know how to keep students actively learning. I always focus on building confidence, fostering curiosity and encouraging creative, independent thinking, as I believe these are the real foundations of academic and personal success. For KS3 students (11-14), it’s important to broaden their knowledge base by using longer texts from various historical periods, comparing and contrasting literary contexts and choices, and introducing analytical thinking and writing. This ensures students are exploring literature and their own writing through a rich, varied approach in line with national curriculum guidelines, leaving them well prepared to develop themselves further in the following years. If you have any questions or think I might be a good fit for you or your child, I’m happy to message or offer free web chats, so don’t hesitate to get in touch. I'd love to hear from you!

I tutor Spanish from KS1 until GCSE. Since I study Spanish at university, it stands as my speciality and I am capable of tutoring a variety of age groups. My lesson format would comprise of teaching/ revising content for speaking, writing, listening and reading respectively. Furthermore, we can work through practice questions and exam technique, with past paper questions to fortify this.
I addition, I studied Mathematics as an A-Level and can hence tutor at a KS1 level. I would approach a lesson by revising over and teaching concepts the student is unsure of, in a friendly and instructional manner.
I can work with the student on what they’re studying at school, or work with them to get ahead on their respective syllabus. In addition, I was on a teaching placement at a school last year so I have experience of being surrounded in an educational environment, from an academic perspective. My balanced approach of being friendly, but also firm will enable the student to attain a high standard of results i aspire for them to reach.

Experienced teacher for A level Chemistry in Cardiff. PhD in Chemistry and previous teacher of a Sixth form college in London. Certificate in teacher training .
I apply varieties of aspects in my lessons to develop learners’ skills based on their ability and progress. My teaching method follow review of previous topic and link with the current topic and often with real life examples. I emphasise on the non-linguistic representations such as graphs, models or images as visualisation helps in long-term memory compared to the text-heavy materials. I encourage the learners to use varieties of resources to seek information beyond the textbook. Moreover, I address the subject specific mathematics and English needs of learners. I conduct regular progress test and often with self assessment to motivate the students for self-actualisation. As a science teacher, I emphasise on the ‘Generating and Testing Hypotheses’. My Learners are often asked to carry out web search and write an essay on contemporary science topics which helps to grow confidence in academic writing for higher education.

A Costs Lawyer and PGCE Tutor with 20 years experience in all aspects of academia who teaches Law, Politics and English in Cardiff at GCSE, AS AS Undergraduate, Post Graduate level and English ESL to Chinese children online.
After graduating I secured a position with Eversheds for 8 years as a Costs Lawyer and bespoke tutor. The emphasis was on managing a team with responsibility for recovery of costs on behalf of large external clients, predominantly insurers and government departments as well as financial organisations.
From November 2007, I embarked upon my own private practice with a dual purpose of providing legal advice to clients along side structures and bespoke tutoring. This was followed by a decision to work on a consultancy basis, continuing as a costs lawyer focusing on claimant work and concentrating on my tutoring skills, enabling flexibility to work around family commitments.
I currently have a broad range of private professional clients whom I teach face to face and online whilst also maintaining a traditional student base. I specialise in Law, Politics and English and online tuition to Chinese students aged between 4 and 14.
I am married with two boys. I love the outdoors. I was a member of the Welsh Surf Lifesaving Association for over a decade and am a dedicated surfer. Full driving licence. Fluent in Welsh and English. Interested in all aspects of global politics, human rights and the environment.

I have checked and all my educational levels match with GCSE and A Levels but my understand it the level number may be different between Scotland and England. I myself have Visual Stress and Dylesxia and have benefited from a lot of free and paid software that I can pass onto other students who suffer from the same, along with my experience in support there are other options to reduce the stress of learning within these challenges.
