Chinese is my mother language. I am not only fluent in both Chinese and English language, but also have an in-depth understanding of both Eastern and Western cultures. Because learning a different language is opening the door to different cultures.
I have a Ph.D. degree. I am passionate about teaching. I get along very well with children and people from all walks of life. I have been teaching students from all over the world, which includes The United States, The United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Canada, France, Brazil, etc. I have had students from all different age groups, from 6 to 69 years old.
I can teach the Chinese language at any level, including Listening, Speaking, Reading, and writing. I use students' tailored and preferred learning materials for their needs and the goal they would like to achieve, which includes HSK test learning materials.
I am very organized, reliable, and flexible. I can teach on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

I'm Laura, and I've always loved learning about the world around me. This led to studying physics to a doctoral level, and discovering my passion lies in the communication of science, and sharing my enthusiasm for the subject.
In my lessons I favour a conversational approach. This allows me to engage the student while showing me their thinking. From here I can gently disentangle any confusion leading to a deeper understanding of the topic.
Lesosns themselves are tailored to the student and can include teaching of new content, revision of previous content or practicing questions together to help the student achieve mastery. I am flexible and happy to know the topic in advance or for the student to turn up on the day and let me know what they would like to practice. This can include any questions that came up over the week in other lessons of the subject at school, for instance.
I do have split pricing, so I charge £50 per hour during the week, and £55 per hour at the weekend.

I am a qualified midwife since 1995.
I trained in Kerkrade with the PBL system and as students we already had to mentor our junior peers, which only increased our own learning.
I have taught and set up different antenatal classes (for several groups; parents, teenagers) and made lesson programmes when working as a clinical trainer and for my own students when working as a midwife.
Student midwives in the Netherlands are taught and trained to be independent medical specialists, not nurses, so I trained with GP trainees, junior obstetricians and medical students. Part of our training was in depth anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, medicine management, gynaecology, family medicine and business management.
I did the Student mentorship programme in the Netherlands (Midwifery Academy Amsterdam) in 2003, I have my NMC accredited midwifery practice supervisor and assessor certificate too.
I am at the moment writing my dissertation for my masters in Education course (University of Hull) and hope to graduate in May 2024; I recently passed an SVQ level 3 course in teaching too.
I am NMC registered, I have a full DBS (on update service) and a full PVG (Scotland).
I mentored students from different healthcare settings and in the Netherlands and in the UK (midwifery, medical , nursing, paramedics and HCA/MCA), set up my own lesson plans and my students were always really appreciative for my teachings, they said it was fun and with the way I taught they could remember their theory much better, not only for exams but I taught them lifelong learning.
I prepared my 3 daughters for their GCSE and A level Dutch language exams and currently I help my daughter who studies medicine at Glasgow University (4th year) to revise for her practical exams.
I want to move from active midwifery into a more educational role, using the interprofessional experience, skills and knowledge that I gained over the years.
I am a big believer in interprofessional learning and scenario based learning; I did my VWO (comparable to A levels) in the Netherlands (Dutch, English, German, French, Biology, Chemistry and History.
I like teaching in small groups and on a one to one basis .
I also like to learn for and with my students.
The dissertation for my masters in Education (Hull, I hope to graduate in May 2024) is about a digital app for global healthcare education.

Miss Lara started dancing Ballet over 17 years and have the teaching experience in 9 years. She is well- known in Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and she also could provide the class of PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique). All level and age is welcome.
The class would based on your needs, such as keep practicing the RAD syllabus (if you would have an exam on or you just want to start with the syllabus) or just the Free Exercise class. Miss Lara would based on the age you might be learned to provide the exercise in the class. All classes are included the warm up exercise, barre work(except under age 5), centre work, include the adage, allegro, and the relaxation for end the class. All classes in 60 mins.
if you are a new learner or an advanced dancer, you still can attend the class of PBT ( Progessing Ballet of Technique), which is good for working on your muscles, but it takes time to keep practicing. After a period of practice, you could feel the improvements in your normal dance class.

I enjoy sitting down with students and creating practice plans for the short and long term. This could be working towards an SQA, ABRSM or Trinity exam for example or just putting on a little show for your family.
My teaching style is very dependent on what the student needs and how they wish to work. If a student wants to work casually then that's totally up to them. If more advanced students want to be pushed then I'm happy to do that also. I also have experience of working with children who have additional support needs.
With beginners, I like to take the time to make sure you're comfortable around the instrument. It's very important to make sure that your hands and seating position are set properly. From there, we will refine both musicality and technique and expand your repertoire/song list. It's also very important to me that beginners enjoy what they play so I like to allow you to pick some songs or repertoire too!
With more advanced players, I like to listen to your playing and work out a route map from there. We'll normally discuss topics such as music history, shaping your phrasing and working on adding colour to your pieces as well as nails (if applicable) and technique.
I hope you'll enjoy working with me!

Born in Ullapool, I was educated through Gaelic Medium, winning the Ullapool Fluent Gaelic Prize 2016, gaining Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award 2018 and a 200-hour volunteer Saltire Award, working with the museum to translate and discuss historical Gaelic texts.
Within my Master’s degree in Education and Gaelic at the University of Edinburgh, I have studied Gaelic language modules extensively: Linguistics and the Gaelic Language; Gaelic 1B, Gaelic 2B; The Celtic Languages (Gaelic revitalization), but I have also studied it with reference to education: Theory and Pedagogy with reference to Bilingual Education, Reflecting on Gaelic Medium Education and Education and Gaelic in Scotland. Furthermore, I have completed modules that have granted me an in-depth understanding of education: Education Studies 1a, 1b, 3 and 4 as well as Additional Support for Learning and Cognitive and Social Child Development in Education. Supporting this has been my multiple placements within three different Gaelic schools where I have been given the opportunity to teach Gaelic extensively therefore, I have an in-depth understanding of education processes, theories and pedagogical practices.
Depending on the level of the learner I will vary my teaching style accordingly. I will start by developing the learners Gaelic schema by using the Blooms Taxonomy; I will provide knowledge and understanding followed by the learner analyzing and applying information. I will make use of visual cues such as grammatical structures on my large whiteboard, online resources, PowerPoints and in-text examples. I will also be able to refer the learner to the best resources for developing Gaelic knowledge in his or her free time. My aim is to steadily progress the learner through the stages of fluency towards Intermediate / master level.
