If you’re concerned about your child’s academic progress, then I’m confident that I can help you. Your concerns may be down to your children:
• missing lessons due to the Covid-19 pandemic;
• having difficulty with a particular aspect of a syllabus;
• needing to improve results and grades.
I've established a reputation as a friendly, informal teacher whose cheerful and patient style helps even the most nervous and shy students. This enables them to relax, enjoy the lessons and make steady progress.
I joined the Government's National Tutoring ("Catch-up") Programme in 2020.
In recent years I've also taught a number of students with (mild) Special Education Needs, including autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and cerebral palsy.
I've previously held memberships of both the Institute of Statisticians and the Society of Editors, so am well versed in both Numeracy and Literacy.
NB Have had problems uploading DBS Certificate here, but it's valid and the Update System too. (Can show in person or on-screen.) Numerous testimonials via my website at www.weybridge-home-tutor.co.uk

I`ve been a qualified teacher for 15 years, with 4 years being head of Key Stage 3 and previously head of maths for 10 years in both state and independent settings. I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2006 with an engineering degree before completing my PGCE in mathematics. I worked as a coastal defence engineer for 2yrs before returning to teaching. Over the duration of my teaching career I have completed my Post Graduate Diploma to become a qualified teacher of the deaf, a Masters Degree in Mathematics Education and an a Post Graduate Certificate in advanced audiology. I have taught a range of subjects including the three core sciences and mathematics to GCSE level. I have taught in special schools for deaf children and am well practised in delivering for highly differentiated learning needs, catering for those with significant learning difficulties as well as challenging those who are gifted and talented. In the independent sector I have experience of teaching to the 11+ and Common Entrance levels 1, 2 and 3 in mathematics. My teaching style is focused on the individuality of my students. I pride myself on being able to adapt sessions to needs of students to ensure that they understand concepts rather than just remembering processes. I encourage discovery learning and try to facilitate this as much as possible while still maintaining a suitable pace when prepping for exams.

I have been teaching for 5 years and quickly became head of department in a secondary school in Surrey. I have been teaching the AQA syllabus to years 10 and 11 and have also designed a whole curriculum for years 7 through to 11. Therefore I have a variety of resources and wide range of specialist topics including humanand physical geography. Prior to becoming a teacher I worked as an ecologist, field biologist in Mauritius and worked for a number of conservation organisations such as the RSPB. I can therefore make cross curricular links with biology and citizenship.

A founding member of the NowTeach program in 2017, Rob transitioned into teaching Geography after a successful career in Accounting & Finance. After completing QTS training with Ark Teacher Training and working at Bolingbroke Academy in Wandswoth, London, Rob continued his teaching experience at Oxted School in Surrey, teaching classes from Year7 to Year13 and covering KS3, GCSE and A-level, focussing on the AQA Exam Board.
Available for flexible tutoring to help your child realise their full potential in their Geography studies (AQA exam board). Free to offer support whilst your child is completing their schoolwork at home as a result of coronavirus restrictions, including help with the structure of their learning day and setting realistic targets. In 2021 exam grades will again be awarded by teachers - give your child the best chance of success in their mock exams and teacher assessed grades!
I look forward to hearing from you.
