With over a decade working in education and private tuition, I have extensive experience in preparing students for National exams. Academically, I focus on English Language and Literature, French and Spanish. I also have a wealth of experience in successfully preparing students for the Foundation Tier Maths exam.
At GCSE and IGCSE level I have experience teaching all of the major exam boards including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, WJEC, CIE and OCR. There isn't a great deal of variation between the different boards in terms of content as GCSE level is largely standardised. Nevertheless it does help to be familiar with the variation in the emphasis of a particular syllabus and the format of the exam paper.
I hold a BA and MA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. I found the tutorial experience offered at Oxord University to be a revelatory way of learning and so when beginning my career in education, from an early stage, this became the route I decided to pursue.

Targeted for GCSE French students. My lessons tailor to individual learning needs of my students within the 4 language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Attention will also be given to pronunciation, an aspect that school children need much chance to work on. Objectives are to strengthen their base while filling in gaps in their knowledge. Lessons will be injected with extra material on language knowledge and interest facts on French cultural to liven the study.
I worked in schools for more than 20 years. Apart from being a subject teacher I also run an in-school language centre. I am currently working as a Language Teaching Assistant in a 6th Form College in West Yorkshire. We cater for and look after people from all over Sheffield providing ESOL, training, support, stability and advice in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment. We look after vulnerable and hard-to-reach members of the community, local residents, refugees, asylum seekers, BME communities and older people promoting and maintaining cohesion and integration.
