If you’re concerned about your child’s academic progress, then I’m confident that I can help you. Your concerns may be down to your children:
• missing lessons due to the Covid-19 pandemic;
• having difficulty with a particular aspect of a syllabus;
• needing to improve results and grades.
I've established a reputation as a friendly, informal teacher whose cheerful and patient style helps even the most nervous and shy students. This enables them to relax, enjoy the lessons and make steady progress.
I joined the Government's National Tutoring ("Catch-up") Programme in 2020.
In recent years I've also taught a number of students with (mild) Special Education Needs, including autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and cerebral palsy.
I've previously held memberships of both the Institute of Statisticians and the Society of Editors, so am well versed in both Numeracy and Literacy.
NB Have had problems uploading DBS Certificate here, but it's valid and the Update System too. (Can show in person or on-screen.) Numerous testimonials via my website at www.weybridge-home-tutor.co.uk

I am a French native lady, i was born in France, in Reims, a city close Paris. I followed my studies until the "baccalauréat" ( A level) and then i started accounting studies. After that, at 25 years old, i started Naturopathy studies, therapeutic massages and aesthetic and cosmetic studies. I worked for several years and lived abroad too for a while. Now i have been living in England for over 12 years. My life changed completely after a baby and a new country, new environment, new language, a big step for me, i had to adapt and it wasn't easy at the very beginning. So i understand all the difficulties you can have when you start a new language and how frustrating it is not being able to get through and not being able to express yourself. Also about the children, with my son, i know as well the complexity to learn a foreign language as first and second language too. Now with my life experience and i have been teatching now for 8 years, i can help you in so many ways and levels. No pressure, no stress, step by step, you develop your confidence in a pleasant atmosphere at my home or online by meet google. Feel free to contact me for any questions and the FIRST 30 min are Free so don't hesitate to try!

I am a recent graduate from Cambridge University in History and am currently completing a postgraduate degree in Intellectual History.
I am passionate about all forms of historical processes across space and time.
At undergraduate level I focused on eighteenth century British socioeconomics, nineteenth century British parliamentary politics; eleventh and twelfth century European history (including heresy and the Crusades); Enlightenment political thought; the early modern Ottoman and Safavid empires; nineteenth century Islamic political thought; and Tokugawa Japan. This wide-ranging portfolio means that I can provide a breadth of expertise to students at GCSE and A-level, but am also more than open to teaching many other historical contexts.
I have particular specialisms in historiography; intellectual history; and political thought, which I am happy to teach to any students looking for post-A-level tutoring.
As a native French speaker and additionally, having proficient reading ability in Latin, I am pleased to also provide Latin and French language lessons, either in addition to History lessons or independantly of them.
My techniques and teaching methodology:
- My tutoring style is first and foremost tailored to each individual student. I work closely with students to create customized study plans that help them achieve their academic goals. I use engaging and effective teaching methods to help students understand difficult concepts and develop the skills they need to succeed in History, French or Latin exams and beyond. I also use tools to monitor and track student progress, and provide regular feedback to students.
- Interactive teaching that supports independent thinking is a mode of teaching that I find particularly rewarding, as I aim to adapt my tutoring technique to suit the prior knowledge and learning needs of different students. This requires an accomodation of mixed abilities and knowledge levels through inclusive, question-led teaching practices based on the student's contributions.
My Qualifications:
- MA in Intellectual History, Jesus College, Oxford University (2023-2024)
- BA in History, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University (2020-2023)
- A-Levels: History (A*), French (A*), Latin (A*), Ancient Greek (A)
- GCSEs: 13 A*s
Teaches:
- History (GCSE, A-level, BA level)
- French (GCSE and A-level)
- Latin (GCSE)
Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to working with you. :)

Hola a tod@s, I`m Lizzie, an enthusiastic and succcessful secondary school Spanish and French teacher. Having achieved wonderful results with my students already, I am looking to move into tutoring to help more people access these wonderful languages!
WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER ME?!
I am an enthusiastic secondary school Spanish and French teacher with high aspirations for my students, supporting them to challenge themselves and achieve. I am currently studying for my Masters in Education, for which I am researching the use of mobile phones and technology to teach grammar in MFL.
In my first year as an A Level teacher I received 100% A-A* grades in my class. Last year, 88% of my Higher Spanish GCSE students received a grade 6 or above.
My teaching involves creating and delivering engaging and exciting lessons which motivate students. I enjoy incorporating technology into my classes and find the use of culture, such as music, is key to teaching languages. Recent examples of exciting lessons I have taught include a writing task on students’ phones using emojis and challenging Sixth Form students to act as a ‘government’ and come up with their own racism laws and policies, considering logistics and money, totally in target language, for one lesson.
I have a year of experience of teaching online as a secondary school teacher working during corona virus lockdown in 2020/2021. I am also completing my Masters in Education in online/mobile learning currently.

Since 2012, I teach in a private boarding school for girls. Over the years, I also gave private lessons to students and adults.

Over 20 years' teaching experience and prior to that 10 years using languages in export and business. Excellent working knowledge and fluency in Spanish and French, both of which I continue to regularly enhance whilst still loving the opportunity to keep learning.
As a Team Leader and Examiner for both the major examination boards (AQA and Edexcel) for over 10 years, across the examined skills, I am well aware of the demands of the exams and how students can achieve their very best.
I have taught all year groups, from prep school to adults and the GCSE results my students have achieved have been consistently strong, with my pupils consistently getting higher than their predicted grade.
My focus is on making lessons fun whilst learning at the same time. I use a variety of teaching methods, personalised according to what the learner needs and how best they learn. The use of a variety of supporting material enables the whole experience to be enjoyable, engaging and productive.

I did my PGCE in German with French which involved the usual two teaching practices. I completed these in two comprehensive schools. Since gaining QTS in my first teaching job in 2005, I have taught German, French and Spanish in three secondary schools, all at Keystages 3, 4 and 5. I am currently employed teaching all three of these languages in an independent school.
I believe that, in the drive to raise pupil confidence in speaking and general communication, there has been a decline in rigorous grammar teaching. My feeling is that knowing the grammatical foundations of a language well, in the long run, provides a basis upon which to build and therefore facilitates more confident and accurate communication. I try to strike a balance between sound reinforcement of the fundamentals whilst nurturing curiosity in the learner to try things out, manipulating language across contexts. With German in particular I like to offer an insight into the culture of the country and my time living in Germany enables me to bring the language "out of the page". I really enjoy teaching and like to engage my pupils so that they feel comfortable to ask questions. I also inject a little humour into my delivery, which has enhanced my teaching and boosted relationships. Mine is a safe place for learners to develop.

I have been a tutor for a few years teaching both face to face and online. To me, the most important thing as a tutor is to really listen to your student and let them explain what they may find challenging about a subject. Each student is different and therefore their lessons should also be unique. My students appreciate my friendly approach to learning and it is important that the students are in the driving seat of their lessons. I regularly ask my students what they would like to focus on and I base my lessons around where they can make the most progress.
I think it is important to have a tutor that is actively learning more about their subject of choice and that is why I am unique as a tutor. I am currently studying English literature with French and Spanish at The Universoty of Sheffield and this degree encompasses my strenghts and also what I enjoy. I am open to tutoring any ability level and I really look forward to meeting you!

I have a first-class degree in French and Spanish and am available for KS3 and KS4/GCSE tuition.
I am patient and kind and have several years of experience working with teenagers whilst tutoring and working in learning support departments and language departments in secondary schools usually on a 1:1 basis. This experience has made me aware of how important it is to really listen to the pupil to find out what their challenges are and then give them tailored support and guidance to increase their confidence and ability.
I am friendly and approachable and work at a pace that is right for the pupil.
I believe in noticing and praising all progress.
During my tuition, I have successfully helped pupils increase their understanding of the languages, get to grips with grammar, improve their grades and increase their confidence.
I am half French, have my own teenagers, and I have spent many holidays in France. I have also lived and studied in France for 2 years and have studied in Spain.
