I offer a free 20 minute session to get to know the student (and parents/carers) to understand the goal the students wish to achieve, whether this be moving up a grade, getting to a pass, exceeding your targets or just general improvement. Please get in contact so we can find something that can work for you!

I have now been a full time tutor for four years with Tutor Hunt- please look at my profile there as this is where you can find my reviews and ratings. I have just recently switched to TutorExtra.
I really enjoy getting to know students and working with them to support them in achieving their goals, which is very rewarding. I am reliable and friendly, as well as having a lot of experience working with many different students. I have really good subject knowledge, both in E. Language and E. Literature, but I also enjoy learning from my students, who can be very inspiring, especially when learning about literature and poetry.
In my work as an examiner, I have marked thousands of papers and this gives me a real insight into the best approaches to take to achieve the highest grade possible.

Originally, I am from Germany, but I have lived and studied in the UK for almost 5 years now. I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature, where I was awarded a prize for having achieved the highest marks in my year, and a Master’s in Comparative Literature.
As you can tell, languages have been one of my passions for years and as I am approaching my academic career, I want to share this excitement for languages and literatures with you and help you feel confident. Aside from being a native speaker in German and fluent in English, I have learned multiple languages in a classroom-based setting over the years. I have had French at school and university level, and I am still taking classes in Mandarin Chinese. I know what it means to learn a foreign language, both the exciting as well as the challenging parts. These experiences are the very foundation of the way I teach, which is individually tailored to my students’ needs and interests. We can focus on conversational English grammar, but I also have experience in writing applications for universities, cover letters and doing practice interviews. At university level, I teach topics related to World Literature, Postcolonialism and Comparative Literature. Let me know what you want to learn, and I will tailor our lessons specifically to your requests.

I am an experienced, qualified teacher and tutor of 20+ years. I am educated to master's level and have expereince teaching and tutoring primary and preparatory school pupils (ages 6 - 13). I can provide home learning support in all primary subjects as well as specialist English tuition. I have had success preparing pupils for SATs and entrance examinations for independent schools, particularly in Cambridge, (United Kingdom), though I am also familiar with Cheltenham schools. I tailor sessions to the individual child's interests and needs, and work with pupils and parents to meet their desired goals, whether these be to build confidence, to develop creativty or to begin entrance exam preparation in earnest. I usually set a short piece of homework at the end of each session and review this with the pupil in the following session.
I am currently working only online via Skype and Zoom to deliver lessons but will also consider other mutually agreeable, secure platforms.
My basic rate is £30 per hour but this may be adjusted up to £35 or down to £25 depending upon the age and number of students, the work involved and any fees charged to me to facilitate tutoring.
Return to School or Transition Support - I can provide educational support for children returning to school in September after a significant time out of a formal educational environment. I can also support those children making important transitions between key stages or who are adjusting to the pace of work in a new school.
Manuscripts and dissertations (master's level) - I offer a proof-reading (typing, spelling and punctuation) and basic editing (grammar, consistency and clarity) service and quote for this on an individual basis.
SCIENCE COURSES - I'd like to recommend the highly successful and talented 'Andrew B'. Contact him via www.*** Please see my gallery for his up to date group and 1:1 course list.
Most of my work comes to me by word-of-mouth recommendation but in April 2020 I also created this page on TutorExtra and so currently have only one review.
I can be easily and quickly contacted via this site or by email: ***@*** Please simply send me a message if you'd like to find out more. I'm very happy to discuss an arrangement that will work well for you.

I cover math from ages 4 - 16 working up to the foundation tier of GCSE papers. I teach English to children aged 4 - 12 (Year 7). I can offer support with help for the KS1 phonics screenings, KS1 and KS2 SAT's papers and the Year 4 government multiplication tables check.

I am an English teacher with over 10 years of experience including GCSE, A level and University preparation. I also teach general English proficiency for students whose first language is not English. I currently work at Abbey College Cambridge, currently the best performing GCSE and A Level college in Cambridge. Most recently I have been teaching IELTS and the GCSE language and literature courses (AQA). I have successfully taught 12 clients of varying ages, each with their own specific goals. If exam preparation is what you need, then I specialise in exam techniques and how to ensure that you get the best possible scores for each question. Generally, this entails understanding how to effectively structure a response for the different task requirements. Furthermore, I am a qualified Cambridge ESOL examiner, with in depth knowledge of the Cambridge ESOL exam suite. I also offer proofreading tutorials, successfully proofreading dissertations for students at Columbia University, the University of Warwick and most recently Cambridge University.
