My primary specializaton is helping children gain entrance to their preferred secondary school by tutoring and supporting them to pass the entrance exams. I also tutor mathematics and English for ages 7-13, which is in high demand at the moment due to gaps in knowledge caused by the Covid pandemic.
I spent 6 years working in all age groups in primary school as well as 5 years working with adults teaching English as a second language. I have had much success teaching mathematics, English, eleven plus and secondary school entrance exams to children aged 7-13. I have a high pass rate aiding children to pass their 11 plus exam.
I am skilled at building pupils’ confidence in themselves and their ability to up-level their knowledge and gain success. I am experienced teaching both CEM and GL style 11 Plus English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
I use a pupil-centred approach and cater lessons to meet the needs of the individual, producing rapid results. I have experience working with special needs children and have a particular understanding of the needs of autistic children.
I am a caring, friendly and approachable tutor, giving quality feedback regarding the educational level of the pupil and what the next steps are to achieving their targets. I thoroughly enjoy working with pupils and seeing them grow and flourish brings me much satisfaction.

Hey, I’m Gabs and I've been tutoring English Literature and Drama for GCSE, A-Level and Degree students for 10 years. Exam boards include AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Pearson. My main specialism is teaching Shakespeare and poetry.
One of the things I love about lesson time is watching students’ eyes light up when they grasp something new. It’s such a meaningful profession. What better way to spend my time than helping students learn about the most incredible texts that the world has ever known? I hope my classes stay with students throughout their lives.
I’ve taught students from their first year of high school through to college and university—it’s been a huge pleasure to watch them grow.
Tutoring Experience
Literature and Drama are my main subjects. I’ve taught privately in the UK for 10+ years and I have a full DBS check with a 100% pass rate.
In the last 5 years, I’ve worked as a Copywriter for two award-winning advertising firms, Ogilvy and McCann. So, not only can I help students get great grades, but I can help prep them for the professional workplace. While working in advertising, I really missed teaching full-time, so I decided to quit my job and make this my main focus.
Education-wise, I attended Hillcrest Grammar School, Marple Sixth Form College and Salford University.
In 2015, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature & Creative Writing, First Class Honours.
In 2016, I was awarded The Vice Chancellor's Scholarship to complete a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and I graduated with a Merit.
Tutoring Approach
My teaching style is friendly, fun and professional aimed at High School students, College and beyond. Lessons are tailored to you and we’ll touch on: - Creative writing - Close readings - Analysing prose texts - Analysing poetry - Shakespeare - Essay structuring, spelling, and grammar - Preparing presentations - Revising for exams - Personal assignments or home-work - Working on monologues - Mastering duologues - Character development
Our lessons take place over for 60 minutes at a rate of £50. I accept PayPal and bank transfers.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If 24 hours notice is not given, the lesson fee is still paid in full.

Welcome to my tutoring profile! With over 12 years of experience, I am a highly skilled primary school teaacher specialising in English, Maths, and Phonics for children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2). I am passionate about helping young learners develop a strong foundation in these fundamental subjects. My expertise lies in guiding students through the intricacies of English language and literature, including reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary building, and creative writing. I employ various interactive techniques to enhance their language skills and foster a love for reading. In the realm of Mathematics, I provide comprehensive support to students, covering topics such as arithmetic, problem-solving, geometry, and algebra. I employ hands-on approaches, visual aids, and real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable and enjoyable for students. Phonics, an essential component of early literacy, is another area where I excel. I employ proven strategies to develop students' phonemic awareness, letter-sound recognition, and blending skills. By fostering a strong foundation in phonics, I empower students to become confident readers and spellers. Throughout my teaching/ tutoring career, I have successfully worked with children of diverse learning abilities and backgrounds. Hi! I'm Teacher Abi or Abenaide. I'm a 30 year old English Teacher from Manchester, England. I currently live and teach in Hanoi, Vietnam and have been doing so for almost 4 years! I have a strong passion for learning as I'm a very curious person myself.
Helping people communicate is my goal, no matter what age the student is. I like to lead fun and exciting conversations with lots of opportunity to practice your English!
I usually teach face to face in classrooms or at one to one meetings. Over the past 3 and a half years I have worked in public schools and English centers as well as a Science/Maths/English tutor and most recently at a global softare company.
As a Teacher I am keen to get people talking and really try to engage all ages via fun topics of conversation. I would describe my style as supportive, encouraging and conscientious. I feel a strong sense of pride when my students not only complete the sessions but enjoy them! Games and trivia are always included!

I have four years of teaching experience from my various placements throughout the years. I possess a calm demeanor and approachable personality, which makes it easier for children to come and speak to me. Moreover, I am skilled at maintaining boundaries and managing behavior within the classroom. I am a highly organized individual with excellent time management skills. Through my work placements, I have been able to improve my ability to manage my workload and time effectively.
Currently, I am on placement in a year 5 classroom where I am working on a research project focused on enhancing multiplication skills in the school. I am also working on a case study with a child who struggles with dyscalculia. During this time, I am taking a closer look at the Maths and SEND curriculum to explore how I can adapt certain areas to better support my project and case study. I find this work very fulfilling as it allows me to contribute to school improvement and work directly with children.
When I was 16, I attended the Southern Regional College for two years and completed my Level Three Extended Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. As part of my course, I had to do placement every Tuesday and Wednesday, and I worked as a teaching assistant in my old primary school. This experience made me realize that I wanted to become a class teacher and pursue this career further.
In Northern Ireland, I have tutored three children between the ages of 8 and 16. I have worked with children who struggle with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning difficulties. I enjoy tutoring and getting the chance to support children individually.
Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym and running. I also do Irish dancing, which I have been doing since the age of 6. It is something that I really enjoy and it has taught me the value of teamwork andriends. Additionally, it has taught me great resilience and the importance of persevering even when things get tough.
